So, I was playing earlier today and yesterday and i noticed that when i lined up my hunting rifle to a zombie that the zombies head was perfectly in my crosshair but when i fired the bullet didnt hit them, but the crosshair was dead on in the middle of their head. Then i shot a bullet at their chest and the bullet just went straight through them no damage? Fix it like......TODAY????

its also the same with bows the crosshair will be dead on in their face but it shows the arrow phase through them?

Sounds like a network problem. Shooting works fine for me in 2.5. And unless you follow the pinned thread's information about posting a log, there's little anyone can do to help.

There are 2 possibilities, I'll just list them as it is difficult on our side to find out, but easy for you to check:

1) It is a bug as you suspect

2) 72D2 is more like an RPG than a shooter when shooting: Your perk level with the gun or bow you are using and the gun/bow quality determine how well you can hit targets. This is why there is a circle around your crosshair. Your bullet or arrow will hit anywhere in that circle. Longer aiming, higher perks or better weapons will give you a smaller circle. Now if any part of that circle is not on the zombie you can miss even if the crosshair is dead on.

I use the bow a lot. I've not seen this. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying that if there's a bug, it isn't universal to all players and there might be either special conditions needed to see it. For instance, do you have any mods installed that affect weapons or targeting?

Something harder to see because arrows move pretty quickly is that sometimes MOST of the reticle covers the zombie, but also include a gap between the body and an arm, or a gap above a shoulder and beside the head, or a gap between the legs. If the greater reticle includes those gaps you will sometimes send your arrow through that gap.

Another possibility, specially when playing on a server where you'll have some network delay, is that the animation you're seeing isn't exactly at the same point the server thinks it is, thus you're kind of shooting at a ghost. Some of those zombie animations like to move the head around making head shots more challenging.
