XBOX Server Ping Is Too High

The game is unplayable and a waste a money as far as I am concerned. Me and a friend tried everything possible to play 7 Days to Die and the ping being 160+ reaching over 700! It's crazy! Any fixes you can make after a year already, would be GREAT!

You using Series X or S?

How are you both connecting? Are you using your Series X to host while he connects or are you using a separate PC as a server you both connect to. The more details you provide, I'm sure someone here can help you figure it out.

I connect with my Series X, No PC involved. There's not much detail that can be given, it's a game that offers multiplayer. It also should be fixed or patched or redone to accommodate a stable server so all players can enjoy the game, especially if it the particular game was paid for twice.

What if its not the game but your network connection (or your second players network conncection)? Whats there to fix then?
As I stated earlier. All that has been evaluated. We both have different providers, I have a gig of internet, he has 700 mbps internet. All has been rebooted (Several Times) and tested multiple times, it's NOT an internet issue. We both took turns hosting a game...guess what? Same high ping outcome. It's a game issue.

How are you connected, wireless or wired? Are there other PCs connected to your network as you play? How many? Unfortunately there are many factors that can impact latency during a peer to peer gaming session. How close or far away is your friend that's trying to connect? Same house, same neighborhood, same state, country?

Here are some other things to check:

Maximum Player Count: 2-4 (set to 2)
World Size: select smallest available 4K
Crossplay Enabled: enable
Region: make sure set to your region
Server Visibility: try friends only
Game Port: 26900
Options/General/Network Workaround: try turning on to improve performance
Options/General/Crossplay in Multiplayer: try enabling, disabling to see if it helps.

Probably the biggest factor is to make sure your connection is "wired" not wireless if hosting.

I have tried most of what you are recommending but also a few that I haven't, we are always hard wired as well. Thank you for your recommendations!

Also as you play the game, keep in mind the hardware limitations of the console and its inability to process this game as a high end PC would.

Like you, I'm on Series X and use to get very frustrated with how the game performed. Then I started to notice performance related things with the Xbox outside of playing the game. Like the Xbox Dashboard struggling to load after a restart with no game being played at all.

That really helped me to start to remove some of the blame from the game and realize the hardware is pretty inferior, subpar. I'm still glad we get to play it even in the current state because the game is in a class by itself. Hope this helps.

UPDATE: I manage to get it down to 100 ping. Little bit more playable but also going to wait for the next update, won't be playing until then. Hopefully it's a good one (Update)...HOPEFULLY. 🤞🏼
