Update Level Protection (Just an Idea)

As you are aware when "Major Updates" happen a player's "in-game" progress may be wiped out. Leaving the player to start over from scratch.
I have an idea that can help with that if applicable.
Now the player has to have five (5) "Sankara Stones" that are awarded by the various shop keepers around the map.
The stone are given by completing (Very Difficult) missions, each one more difficult than the last.
There are bosses at the end of each search that the player must defeat in order to pass the mission.
Once all five (5) stone are awarded, the player must create a special alter that the stones ought to be placed in.
Once the alter is built, it must be taken to a "graveyard" at 3am. The alter can be placed anywhere in the graveyard and the stone are place on it.
When this is done the stones will glow bright and a Lighting will hit the alter creating lots of dust, smoke and light for effect.
Once the area is cleared, a Jade Statue will appear for the player to pick up.
The player can then take the statue to their home base. The home base must be either the home built by the player or an abandoned house. "Not a POI"
Once in their base the statue can be place down on any flat surface. Once clicked, it gives the player the option to save 5 items that will be carried over when a "Major update" happens. The player's level can also be affected by the statue. The player can now start at level 10, as opposed to 0 as a reward of such.

Just an idea....🥴

Are you on PC? If yes, just use creative mode and give yourself the 10 items you want when starting a new game. And use "giveselfxp" to level up to level 10. I don't know if console has creative mode available.

The general problem of your idea is that it makes early game of the new new game boring since you are greatly OP when you can have your steel club from the previous game in the new game for example.
I would assume most players don't want to do that and neither should the game promote something that imbalances the game.
