Connection issues. Friend cannot connect to my game and I cannot connect to theirs.

I recently got a new PC, and a friend and I tried to play 7 days to die but cannot connect to each other. I tried hosting a game, and he cannot connect to me. It says connecting for a little while then says cannot find server information. It does the exact same thing to me when I try joining a game he is hosting. We did try joining random games in the lobby and we both can join other peoples random lobbies but not one for just us. I have looked up solutions online and have tried everything but nothing is working.

We didn't have this issue on my old PC that barely met the game requirements. My new PC meets the game requirements so I know that's not the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reproduction Steps
I created a game to host with these options, you can find all screenshots at this link: Game Settings

Friend tries to join me, it says connecting for about 5-6 minutes, then it shows the provided screenshot about Lost Connect to Server, unable to establish connection.

If it worked for you with your old computer and not the new one, there is a good chance it'll be a firewall, antivirus, or router issue. See the pinned topic in the support forum for instructions on setting those up correctly. Start with that.

I have blocked it from my antivirus software as well as made sure the firewall allows the 7 days to die .exe, but am still running into the same issue.

Hi Rynviir,

I also run into this issue from time to time due to my Steam privacy settings. If your security settings on Steam prevent anyone seeing your game details, this could cause your game to not be seen by other players. Other than that, please make sure you are searching in the correct zone for the server. FE, if you have it set to East and you are searching West in the browser, it will not show.

Other than that, as Sylen suggested, you can check your firewall, AV, and router settings. One of the quickest ways to do that is to Google "how to allow software through Windows (or other OS if used) firewall settings", and check with your local ISP if you have a router/modem through them. I had to Google around to find the settings for my fiber provider. IF you own your own modem/router, check the manufacturer's siteon how to whitelist an application.

If none of the above work, please let us know.
