Next steps, Visually challenged player needs to...

Hi folks, back with yet another question: How do I get rid of all the foggy/somggy bad/low visibility restricting stuff? I'm already having a hard time seeing properly in the real world, and unfortunately, in the 7DTD world, there is an overuse of 'environmental' effects, that make it even harder for me to enjoy this great game.

Just now, I was all the way down in my bedrock stone mining tunnel network, and fog rolled in on the surface. Great, no problem, I'm deep underground, the mineshaft has a closed hatch up on top, and that hatch itself is within a closed building.

Suddenly, I have to start using my helmet light mod, to counter a randomly AI/algorithm applied 'environmental' effect. so two things.

1) Why are such effects being applied to enclosed places?
2) How do I, a visually challenged player, correct this?

In the short term, are there any functional console commands to turn these effects off? In the long term, will there be a game setting that allows for a visually challenged player to just turn them off entirely/permanently?

If I need to learn some file editing, I'm up for trying to remove these effects, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

@WarMongerian
I can help with some of it. F1 bring up console anytime

COMMANDS you can use
weather fog 0 that means no fog
weather fogcolor .01 .01 .01 You gotta play around with it to get the tint you want
weather clouds .4 those are puffy, that adjust the sky tone, and refracts more light
partially works at night too.
spectrum snow more of a bright white LUT
spectrum desert more of a soft orange-ish red
adjust your gamma in options at any time.

Biomes.xml is one of the files for atmospheric adjustment long term
But the short term is easy, and takes less than a minute

WorldGlobal.xml for long term inside, adjustment but you have to play around with it to get your
favored lighting point.

I remember you helping me in the past, I think with something like "Spectrum stormy" followed by a command that I probably was getting wrong, lol. With this thread as a future reference, I can just come back here as needed, and refresh my memory, and not have to bother folks with these issues again. Once again, that you for your help!

Ok, I can test that out immediately, as my game is paused at the moment. Once I finish my post, that is.

Question, if I set {weather fog 0} as above, will I need this as well?
weather clouds .4 those are puffy, that adjust the sky tone, and refracts more light
This seems familiar. Was {weather clouds 0} a valid command? I may have forgotten the 's' on the end of cloud, which could be why it stopped working, lol. Thanks again.

I sometimes, on a bright, sunny day in the pine forest, have adjust the brightness, as it hurts my eyes. As a work around, I just plat Oak trees on my building roofs', and that has sufficed, for most of my playing needs. Otherwise, I just spend more time indoors/underground during the day, or at least the parts that are painfully bright.

Speaking of long term/short term, once I banish the fog, how long can I play without having it come back?

I see (no pun intended). Looks like this great game is complicated, which is good and delivers a multilayered, fun environment, and one I am still enjoying taking my time exploring and playing through.

Once again, thanks for the reply and help.

P.S.
I just went and got a totally un-fogged morning to continue playing in. Thanks so much.

Nope, that was just to give options for you to customize to your liking. If you set fog to .27 or less but greater than 0 then you can adjust tint, to
make the environment your way. Setting equal numbers like .01 .01 .01 set the rgb to a grey to white intensity, uneven and it takes on that shade.
This seems familiar. Was {weather clouds 0} a valid command? I may have forgotten the 's' on the end of cloud, which could be why it stopped working, lol. Thanks again.
Yep...weather clouds 0...means you only see the clouds that are a part of the skybox. Not the lower generated ones. If you just type weather and hit
enter it will show you what percentages are being rendered at that time.

That is the contrast overlay, If you want a richer color but not overly vibrant. The default fog is a gray tint, but it kind of washes out and hides the
color beauty of everything. weather fog .22 weather fogcolor 0. The colors will instantly pop. Then at night if it is too dark and you want to travel around. weather fog ""you choose"" from .20 to .30, do not go passed .4 or it will be a solid fog bank, that only lets you see like 8 or 10 paces around you. and experiment with weather fogcolor from .01 .01 .01 to .15 .15 .15. do not go passed .4 or it will be glare and if uneven numbers are used it will saturate the screen that color. Black 0 and White 1 are supposed to act as colors, but they are acting as intensity and absence or color burn. Note: I do the fog bank at times, because it makes all distant objects just a black silhouette until I can light it with my torch or flashlight. And you can't clearly see any entity until, they are really close. It's trippy. But a personal preference.
Speaking of long term/short term, once I banish the fog, how long can I play without having it come back?
When you set it, it will last the playthrough. Although some times the spectrums will override, and moving through some chunks
may change the clouds especially going from biome to biome. But all you do is F1 then hit the up arrow because it has a cache
and hit enter and keep on trucking.

Note: the spectrum stormy was so it would not be glaring bright as you had described it. It renders a subdued gray tone to the ambient
light. So if F1 spectrum stormy then weather clouds .4 weather fog .17 weather fogcolor .01 .01 .01 as a combo it should give you a good
starting point.
