Sewers and subways

Idk if this would even be possible but its a pimp dream so anything is game.

But sewers in all citys and towns with zombies, mushrooms, loot, water and pipes of gas and fire.

Subways stretch far and deep and have tracks and flooded areas with zombie spawns. Military surplusit good for a base?

Cuz imagine going into a subway to hide from Radation only to find something worst!

I don't think it would work for towns, too small, but for large cities it's possible. Check out the mod NewYorkUndeadOne by DirKillerGaming. It's a recreation of New York City, has subways that go for kilometers complete with tracks, subway cars and platforms. I don't know if it's been updated to 2.x but I played it in 1.x.

Oh, wait, you're on console right? The mod is only custom POIs and handmade maps, can console do those? Well, at least it shows it's possible.

From what people have said, yes. As long as you don't care if you can't click on buttons and key racks (same limitations as PC when the custom POI isn't downloaded locally) and it doesn't use custom blocks.

As far as subways and sewers, they can certainly be done, but it's not really possible currently to do it automatically. I made a couple large threads about ways to make things like those or train tracks or boulevards or whatever else work with RWG if you want to search for them. I'd suggest searching for boulevard as there aren't likely many posts that include that and if you also include my name, it should be easy to find. They discuss some of the problems you face if you wanted to add them automatically with RWG.

One of the biggest issues is that RWG doesn't have any method currently that lets you conditionally place a part based on the next connected tile/district. So if you added subways or sewers to a downtown district, for example and that connected to a rural district on the edge of the town that didn't also include subways or sewers (which it really shouldn't), your subway or sewer is going to dead end at the rural district. Without a part there that turns the dead end into something that makes sense, such as a collapsed area or an actual end to the sewer or subway, it will look bad... just a wall of dirt. You could manually add parts after making the map, but that's a lot of work.

Right now, the easiest option (the only real option unless you want to do a lot of manual work) is to have subways or sewers only on a single POI and/or tile and have something like collapsed tunnels to make it make sense. But you're limited to the 150x150 size of tiles, so it won't be an expansive tunnel system like you would really prefer. There's even a tile that has such a subway in vanilla.

I mean towns could have like a small sewer like cube or something idk what those areas are called but it could be small.

But I was thinking citys like the desert snow and wasteland citys could have ether one. Especially the subways cux it would make no sense for it to be in a small country town

Yes im on console unfortunately but ima try and change that soon

I created my own city streets that include a subway tunnel that stretches for almost 1 km in game. Each section is different with a starting subway station then one at the middle and one at the end. Just single track but when I have used it on a map the players love it. I also have some for the wasteland biome.

Wow, that's impressive, nice work.

I currently have a road and tunnel system included with the PEP custom POI set. They are based on the scale and style of a few vanilla blocks used in Navezgane.
Ive also got a few train sets, and the beginnings of a subway system not currently in play, but those will likely stay in hand place status until I can figure something out with Teragon for sensible placement configs

There is a Vanilla Tile with a Subway. It is Tile content, so not part of a POI and you'll never get a quest to it. Look for the steps going down.

There is Vanilla sewer content on a variety of Tiles. Look for a manhole covers under the downtown overpass and on a commercial tile.
