There already are minimap mods available right now. There are at least 2 or 3 that use Quartz and can be found on the Nexus.

I probably got the wrong section. I play on PlayStation, but my other friends are on Xbox and PC. We got a server to play together, and I don't think a mod would be a solution in our case.
