Linux Controller issues on Steam Deck

Hey all,
Another Steam Deck related issue I have been trying to fix. For a bit, I was able to use my Steam Deck with dock on my TV. I have an 8Bitdo Ultimate controller hooked up to the dock with the USB dongle. Worked great for a while.

But, now, the issue I am seeing is that when I load into a game and press the right (or left) trigger to do an action, it starts an endless press of the action and I can't get it to stop. I had also experienced this once when using the Steam Deck controls directly too, but fixed it by turning off the action buttons in the keyboard mouse settings. That still is good, I can use it there. But, when using the controller now, it just kicks off an endless attack (like the button is being held down).

And I have tried other games with the controller, nothing else is behaving like this. I thought maybe the controller was malfunctioning, but this is the only game that does this.

Anyone experience anything like this before?

Every once in a blue moon, I will spawn into a game on the steam deck (no controllers or keyboard/mouse) and this will happen. I have absolutely no idea what triggers it. I thought it was isolated to my deck somehow. I'll look into it a bit to see if I can see some cause of it.

Thanks!! I had seen it once undocked, disabling the primary mouse keys fixed it. But, when using controller - it happens 100% of the time now. In 2.2, maybe 2.3, I was able to use my controller no problem.

(Also, you saw my other post about FSR, I have done full reinstalls, config clearing, etc… and it doesn’t go away now).
 
Just to update - now that I am using Proton 10.x Beta (can't remember exact version), the controller did start working properly and not auto attacking. Not sure exactly what it means, why it was auto attacking before - and not now, but it is something.
