Water spawning randomly

Version
V2.3/4
Platform
Windows
My friends and I are playing on a server (hosted via Nitrado) and ran into an issue where in newly spawned areas massive amounts of water spawn. That happens when we discover new parts of the map or reset POIs by accepting quests. So far I only saw it in the desert but I cant say wether it happens in other areas too.
I also heard that a few other people have that issue too from the subreddit. Its also really frustrating because the water just destroys the POIs and the whole landmark...
Releated screenshots are attached:

Reproduction Steps
I load onto the server my friends and I play on. I then go to Trader Bob and accept a quest. When I go to the respective POI and start the quest by clicking the starting point, bodies of water start to spawn there. They also seem to replace blocks and therefore destroy some POIs by collapsing. The bug also seems to happen whenever we uncover new parts of the map.

Others seem to have had that problem with Nitrado. It seems reinstalling the server there fixed it because there were corrupted/wrong files. I'm not sure if they also had to start a new game.

Thank you, I will have a look into that and come back with the results!

Yeah it's a case of old config files that didn't get updated, usually it's been with Nitrado. If you check your server log, you will see "Wrong hash on: "on config files. Specifically, look for the Biomes one, that is the culprit, but you want all of those to NOT show that warning.

To fix it, you will need to utilize the region reset command (rr for short).

With "dm" on, hit F3, make sure Ch is checked, stand in the water areas and look for the region

In this case, I would use
Code:
rr -2 6

you MIGHT need to use the switch number 2 or 3. enter "help rr" for a list. You want to do this asap and stop playing on it, as the longer you go the more water will creep out.[/code]

So I just finished migrating the server to host it locally from my own pc. The world and everything seems to work fine. Even the water doesnt seem to spawn in now. But the water that spawned doesnt disappear with the rr command. It does however disappear when I start a quest there. I dont know why those two are different though... Anyways, thank you for your help!

If your server is open to the public could be a cheater going around destroying server. If you're playing just between friends, put a password on it or use the whitelist system.

Yeah you may need to use the 2 or 3 switch in the command. The regular region reset command without them will only reset unprotected chunks (not visited, etc). Make sure when you use the switches you specify a chunk (e.g. rr 1 -2 [2 or 3] without the brackets), otherwise you'll do that map-wide.
