Drawbridge vs. electrical drawbridge.

So yea, I understand why you can not pick up a drawbridge. it is a big ■■■ drawbridge. But if that is the only reason, then why am I able to pick up the electrical version, but not the regular one?

I mean, We already have dimensional pockets, because we can carry 55 cars in our pockets.

Could this be a thing in the future, where you can pick up both? Or do we still have to break the regular drawbridge and make a new one, if we accidently place it in a wrong area?

The pickup functionality applies to two categories of things: workstations and electrical equipment. The basic drawbridge is neither, the powered one is electrical.

Not saying it's a great design, but it's how we got here. I'd see more sense in being able to pick up a drawbridge than a campfire, not logically of course, but game mechanically. Especially as the drawbridge is a nightmare to place in the first place...

What is the difficulty of its placement. It is certainly not very convenient, but I did not have any problems.
Honestly, I haven't tried lately, so this might have changed.

Last I tried, you had to aim it at the "floor" in the middle of the open bridge. Which is kinda hard to do when you have already dug the moat - that floor doesn't exist, so you had to build one. And since you were aiming down, you need to aim from a shallow angle to see where the bridge will get placed on the receiving end; causing a situation where small mouse moves would easily change the target by a block.

While it can be placed, it's annoyingly fidgety, and error prone.

There is such a problem with it. I solve it by installing temporary blocks that will not allow it to be placed incorrectly. After installing the bridge, I remove the blocks.

My issues with the drawbridge and the inability to pick it up again, is the cost difference. 10 electrical parts. Thats is all.. Not saying it should be easy or anything. But a specific tool to pick it up again, would be nice. Like you can "shovel up" farm plots. A suggestion could be a a smaller wrench. something like an adjustable wrench.
Personally, I start out with a normal one, and the swap it later. But i also have to chop down the old one, and then I have to punch the elextrical one, to disable any accidental picking up. And removing it with a normal tool, is painful.

When it comes to placement, the easy way to do it, is to think of your entire wall as fully build. Then on the inside, you put a wooden block, where the middle of the bridge will be. then chop down the wall, to make a 5 wide hole. stand on the outside, aim the bridge onto the outside og the wooden block and voila. Works for both types.

That's roughly what I do. But I also add temporary blocks on the sides to prevent accidental left/right shifts.
