Town Hall Info

I have already said that I am giving them until Q4 2026 for bandits...what else do you want? Isn't THAT reasonable enough? You also want communication but you won't ask for it? why?
But you still keep bringing up the missed dates. Anyhow, that date sounds more than reasonable to me. I'm personally thinking Q2-Q3 2026, but it is just my guess. Until we're closer, there's no way to have any idea. Once we see them finish with the 2.x stuff, then we can get a better idea of when 3.0 might come out. Right now, there just isn't any way to really have a decent guess since they are making a LOT of changes and additions and those can create all kinds of problems. It could turn out that all these changes and additions could turn out to be equivalent to a major version update and take a year to do. If that happens, then I'd be looking at around Q2-Q3 2027 for 3.0. But we'll have to see how things go. I doubt that would be how long it takes, but I also wouldn't really be too surprised either if the 2.x changes take a lot of work to complete.

I said that I would like more communication. I didn't say I needed it. We aren't entitled to more communication. I've seen many cases where devs don't communicate at all beyond just release information. No details about what they are working on or the difficult things they've had to deal with with some specific feature or anything like what faatal often provides. No previews of what's to come like faatal and Laz Man sometimes provide. So I'm used to a lack of any significant communication from developers. It isn't just TFP. Obviously some do a lot better, and when that's the case, I appreciate it. But even those who do even worse don't bother me. I'll see it when I see it. If I have to wait until the release to know the details, then so be it.

Now, whether or not that's acceptable to people or if it would be good to have more communication, I still don't believe we are entitled to anything in regards to communication about what they are working on. What is nice and what is needed are two separate things. I'll accept any communication they want to provide, but I'm not going to be upset that they aren't giving me constant updates.

we have vastly different opinions about this.
(sorry gonna bring it up again) because they are very far behind on their own roadmap I do expect communication...I do think THEY OWE better communication. They are late...when I am late I have to answer for it.
I am giving them as long as the entire published road map to accomplish one portion of it. the least they could do is tell us how ■■■■ing slow it is going to be.

They OWE YOU NOTHING. And you can't seem to get anyone behind you in your quest for acknowledgement. Could it be your....communication? :ROFLMAO:

Quick question, in the town hall video, the host was wearing a 7DTD T shirt, are the shirts for sale, and if so where and for how much?

God forbid a company promotes their own materials.....wear shirts with their products on them during their town halls.......
I think it came across as a bit tone deaf. A number of people have complained about losing so many clothing options in game to then have DLC skins go on sale. Or to have DLC skins before the game is finished. That particular stream may not have been the best time.

That is kind of a dumb reason to complain considering those who want the clothing options back don't want more armor. They want the split between armor and clothing that we had before. More armor wouldn't really make them happy even if it was free. Now, selling stuff before the game is finished is a different matter, though i don't have any problem with it.

It all comes back to people not liking change and making a big deal over the fact that something specific they want was removed or changed. There isn't anything wrong with complaining about that, but it does get pretty ridiculous how angry the jars, clothing, and LBD groups get over it and how often they start bashing anyone who disagrees with them instead of just having a conversation.

To be fair you have a fair amount of the opposite as well with people not criticizing the argument and only dislike that someone is a YouTuber as an example. I made a few posts about this very topic in various threads it became such an issue pre-town hall.

Exactly. Had it been a normal stream and not a "town hall" to address community concerns, it would have been fine. But it wasn't a normal stream. To throw an ad in there probably felt as much a slap in the face to many as blaming the community for 3.0 being further delayed. Likely not intended as such, but it came across as, "Here's what we're going to do. Now give us even more money." Yikes. Not the most sensitive thing.

All I'll say on this matter is PR has never been TFP's strongest department, and should probably be looked at in future... Also, plugging merch in during such a supposedly critical surprise event is a bit cheap? It would be like if a YouTuber plugged in their social medias and their merch store during an apology video. It makes you wonder if they're taking it (as) seriously at all.

What would I have changed personally?

1) Not call it a Town Hall. Call it something else that's more accurate than what it was. 2.0 Feedback & Response for example, although perhaps labelled a little less on the nose... maybe.
2) Reworded the comment on bandits. Either taking personal accountability for providing what turned out to be a (largely agreed upon) subpar/rushed update that requires extensive more time in the oven, and a little footnote that 3.0 will be delayed, or even just the latter. I didn't detect malicious behaviour from Rick, but the way he worded it was a little bit clumsy...
3) No merch plugs. Stay focused on the subject matter at hand.

This is all just my two cents though. <3
