Taking damage in my base

I’m taking storm damage in the center of a 16x16 one story base made of concrete.

I even made the wall double block thick and still take damage.

Is there something I can do to fix this?

And the blocks above you are solid (can't see through them)? Window blocks that aren't broken? If everything is solid and airtight, it's likely a bug. Take note of what shapes you used above, take screenshots, and submit a bug report.

Certain attacks have splash damage and some attacks can go through open areas like bars or windows. Either of those can damage you if you have a base made of anything that has even the smallest of openings. In short, if you can see zombies, some can hit you.

I’m using a block repair mod which checks if each block and repairs it

My base is 15 high and the zeds are 26 meters away so no splash attacks.
I’m in the wasteland so no frost trolls guys

I'm pretty sure cops can spit that far, plus some vultures spit. In any case, if you're taking damage, something is hitting you. It's probably not a bug, though it's possible. No one is going to be able to do more than guess from the little you've said about it. Post a video of it happening, that includes you turning around and looking at all areas of your base. Or at least post some screenshots that show your base, both inside and out, from all 4 sides. Then someone can see what the cause might be.

I can just say that in all my hours of playing this game, I've only taken damage when I should take damage. I don't get hurt without a reason.

Cops spit 25 feet away anything further and they don’t spit.

Ya I’ll do a video and send a YouTube link

Ok, so you are talking about storm damage. That wasn't mentioned. Storm damage is still kind of a work in progress. It can still hit you sometimes even when it shouldn't. You can add this as a bug report with the logs and video and it may help them to fix it.

i submitted a bug
thanks :)

No problem. I might turn it off until fixed. I sometimes get distracted by my dogs and walk away and it would suck to come back dead heh
I haven't done any real testing of it, but have noticed it in POI as well. You *might* be able to limit the issue by placing some kind of roof over the ladder, whether as a room with a door like you might see at the top of stairs leading to a roof on many commercial buildings, or as kind of a pagoda type thing, though that might not work as well. I think storms have a similar kind of range as sunlight... not directly down a hole, but spread out from that a certain amount. But I also think there is some bug in how being inside is being detected.

Changing the steel hatch to wooden stopped it for one section

Changing the steel door orientation also changed another hot spot

Hm. Doors may have a flow property that lets things go through one way and not another. I know some blocks do for water. It might be a similar thing for storms and doors. You might add that info to your bug report as it would be good information for them to have when trying to reproduce the problem.
