PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

Not to mention if you're regularly buying from traders early game, those candy and canned food prices add up quick.

What would I want? Two forge ahead magazines, or two rock busters?
I rarely buy from traders either, though certainly more than vending machines. I'll buy a magazine only if I'm really close to an unlock that I want and it will get me to that unlock. I'll of course buy things that you only get from traders like solar panels and dew collector mods, and I'll sometimes buy a weapon if I'm having really bad luck with drops and crafting. That is mostly all I but except on rare occasions.

People talk about traders ruining their game and that they can't avoid using them, but I have no trouble ignoring what they sell. I do quest a lot, but that is because I enjoy it and not because of the rewards, which are often kind of poor anyhow.

I'm considering avoiding questing in my next run. It's one of the areas I lack self-discipline and before I know it, I'm the traders' daily errand monkey.

Late game I buy up all the canned food to make the better meals for the stamina buffs.

Likewise, and then 5 days later I end the run because it's day 50-60 by then, heh.

Not dismissing your argument, but... maybe not use them? Saying that earnestly, I'm considering doing the same thing. It makes no immersive sense how they're magically restocked every day anyway (outside of trader compounds... but why don't the traders sell the contents themselves???). It's the same reason why I don't loot any POI I've already cleared before. This includes, of course, no double dipping.
I turn off loot respawn personally. As far as vending machines magically refilling every day, see they have little fabricator that are nuclear powered(seeing its in the future) and it just fabricates all of the stuff fresh everyday.

Either that, or we are all in a simulation. That also explains why we have huds, and mods that can make us stronger and things like that.

Mix of The Matrix and Star Trek's food replicators. 😁

Biome zombies never stop spawning, but they are on timers. Harder biomes have faster timers and the wasteland's are quite fast.
So what would be causing zombies not to spawn in my game? Is my save corrupted to some degree? I started it on the first 2.1 exp build. I haven't seen zombies spawn anywhere within multiple blocks of my home and horde base which are both in the wasteland. When I first got to the wasteland there were plenty. Now there are none and it's been like that for at least an in-game week...except for one zombie bear that I saw the other day.

Have you tried checking the integrity of the files in steam? Something similar happened to me. And it was fixed

You're forgetting we can respawn infinitely and have superhuman abilities.

Also, why do we not need to sleep?

Answer: We don't need to.

My theory is the apocalypse was contained in the SW USA. There's still a civilization with a functioning electrical grid so there's still electricity in parts and the traders get goods airlifted to them every three days by the same person who drops crates for survivors like candy dropped from the Berlin Airlift.

Soo...we are getting some new skins...some changes...Bandits are extra delayed because they have to fix the mess they made... plus "we" asked for some stuff. Sorry, I did like the change to the spitter...some of the roll backs. Just coping a little. they have not really changed...and the timeline is up in the air. I think there is zero chance they don't chase at least a couple more rabbits.

I just don't remember if Faatal was there. Maybe, he doesn't want to participate in this and has enough answers on the forum.

Many developers do not want to be on camera. I have done a few dev streams in the past and am fine being on camera, but we don't need a bunch of talking heads on camera as it tends to get chaotic. I would rather just post on the forums. Lathan is mainly on the dev streams because he is the host as he has a lot of streaming experience since he does it often as a hobby.

About survival aspects. There should be more danger in the forest (I would like to bring back wolves and bears). Cities in the forest are the same, we need more love for them!
It is not about needing love. It is a choice we made as the forest is the starting zone and not meant to be that hard.

Bandits are not extra delayed. Rick said that to leave some room as it is a possibility, but my plan on when I will start working on them for 3.0 is still the same as I always figured 2.0 would need a few months of fixes and that is what we are doing.

My God, the subreddit is having an absolute meltdown, even more so than normal. I almost feel embarrassed to call myself a 7D2D enthusiast sometimes.

I missed the stream but there are some live watches up on YouTube (no idea if that is permitted or not?) so I'm actively going through one of those, plus some highlights some users generously provided here. I'm liking everything I'm seeing so far. Good job, team. <3

Okay, so then back to my original comment... What about an option to fully disable it so it can't be enabled at all (sprint lock, not sprint)? There have been a number of people who have posted about having trouble with it enabling when they didn't want it to. Personally, I've never had a problem with it, but it seems like a small thing to add a fully disabled option.
That is what I was saying with adding a "Hold" option and a "Hold or Tap" option. Be nice and one of our testers has already requested it, but we have a lot of other stuff to also get done.

In my experience the biome zombies do eventually stop spawning. There was a bug topic for 1.x about this, and I forget who it was, a QA person, said it was being worked on. It's still happening. My pine forest is dead now, no zombies spawn outside of POIs (Edit: or wandering hordes or screamer hordes).
I worked on it and redid how the timers worked. Thought is was fixed, but sometimes bugs don't want to die.

he kinda made it sound like it was our fault Bandits are delayed...just saying

thank you....I hope I balance how I saw this adequately: I figured it would take a couple of months of hard work for you before you can start 3.0 work. I am glad we are going to actually see more of the new weather....i push myself to play in them and they look and feel good. and not as a insult, i don't expect to see bandits before Q4 2026 and if I do...great. I believe them when they say they want them to be good and I know you do too.
