Too much special ammo and feeling of spawning less zombies

Hi friends. I'm on day 25, on Adventurer difficulty, and this is my first time playing the PC version.

I've realized I've only been collecting special ammo the entire time.

When I played on console, I had full clips of regular ammo and liked the feeling of slowly killing zombies for a while.

Now I feel like it's easier; before I empty the clip, I've already killed all the zombies.

I even feel like fewer zombies spawn in Tier 6 missions. I remember a lot more zombies spawning on console.

Is there an option to have only simple regular ammo appear in loot and increase zombie spawns?

Not without modding the game which would break crossplay...

I understand that point, but in my case, it's made the game very easy and safe. There's no way the zombies can touch me at all. Adding to that, there's less zombie spawning.

My previous experience in 7 Days to Die: If I wanted to survive a Level VI mission, I had to set up barbed wire, escape, and climb onto a platform because the zombie spawning was massive. The basic ammo made the fun of killing zombies last a long time. Now, I just press and click and win the mission.

I remember that in previous versions, the Blood Moons would cause my hands to fatigue from the massive amount of headshots I was forced to do throughout the night (which is fun).

Now, I finish the Blood Moons in the first half of the night and very calmly because the shotgun with special ammo is a weapon of mass destruction.

I'm afraid this is a consequence of an update, and I can't find options to configure that type of thing in the menu.

The change to ammo is new in 2.x. They've made it so the regular ammo stops appearing after the very early game. It's kind of a pain since you can't use special ammo in turrets, which forces you to craft ammo for your turrets. I also never felt the need to use any special ammo and always used regular ammo. Now I have to use one or the other after the early game if I use guns. Thankfully, I rarely use guns outside of my sniper rifle on horde night, so it's a minor issue. But I still don't like it. I want to continue to find regular ammo all game.

As far as difficulty, increase it if you think it's too easy. As BFT2020 said, turn on feral sense if you still think it's too easy. But in the end, once you know the game, it really isn't that difficult.

Yes, I prefer special ammo to be mixed in with the loot tables so that at the T1 and T2 you can still get regular ammo. The ammo should be 100% regular at T0, 70% regular at T1 and 50% regular at T2 IMO or something to that effect instead of just changing the ammo types on loot stage.

The change in my view focuses more on crafting...

Yes, but not everyone wants to craft. It is good to have an option to craft or not craft. With this change, you have no choice but to craft ammo if you want to use turrets after you run out of the little bit of regular ammo that you find in the early game before it switches to only red and black tipped ammo.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Changing the difficulty to insane as suggested, and now it's more fun. Activating Feral Sense would be the next step; I understand that logic. But as some players say: if you know the game, you'll know how to handle every situation.

It's not just about difficulty, it's about sensations. The last parts of a Level VI mission were very pleasant before: Emptying two or three M60 drum magazines with normal ammo into a pit of 50 or 60 zombies for 5 minutes. It even sounded like I was chopping meat, pure ASMR. With special ammo, I don't get that effect; I just pulverize all the zombies before they pile up. They've now added blue and gold zombies that are more resistant to bullets: I'd love to grind down just one of those â– â– â– â– â– â– â– s with 50 bullets of normal ammo, but after 5 shots, they're already dead.

Special ammo would be best for really tough enemies (like a boss) or for people who haven't figured out how to handle large waves yet. In that case, they should let us disable special ammo on loot and increase zombie spawns if possible; my CPU would handle it just fine.

if you are really interested and play on pc, there is a very good mod to increase zombie spawns

I also recommend that you install this mod to balance the special biome zombies with the first mod

Yes, I'm very interested. I hadn't thought about it before. I saw some interesting mods for dismantling ammo. Combining them with zombie-spawning mods like the ones you're showing me would be the perfect touch I'm looking for. If that increases zombie spawns in Tier VI missions, we'd be talking about a real frenzy in the catacombs.

About the ammo I don't know if there will be any mod that replaces the special ammo for the normal one, in any case with the mod it is not necessary, you will need it, the spawn mod I think does not affect the poi sleepers or the hordes of blood moons, but the zombies outside will not stop chasing you.

In those circumstances, special ammunition would be more appropriate, especially with direwolves, which do not respect barbed wire much, are quite stealthy in urban wasteland environments and the stun they generate can be lethal with many zombies.

I just completed a Tier VI Shotgun Factory mission on Insane difficulty, and I have to say, the special ammo not only saved my life twice, it also saved my time. I have the game set to 120 minutes per day, and the mission lasted 24 hours, or 120 minutes. Which is very good. I think the game is very well balanced on that difficulty. It even makes me feel the need to play with other people to complete the missions faster and deal with the new colored zombies. Especially the golden donut-eating cop, who blinded me several times.
