Need more eggs, wish trees had a chance to drop them

I wish that chickens had a chance of giving you eggs when you killed and harvested them. Maybe vultures, as well, although I'd guess they'd be spoiled by now, heh.

Edit: Master Chef increases the chance to pull food out of food-related containers, including bird's nests.

THATS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYIBG! LET ME RIP THEM OUT OF THE WARM CHICKEN AND DEVOUR THY EGGS!!!!

:)

I'd rather be able to keep chickens on my base. You'd have to make a chicken coop and you have to feed them.

Since I use bows, I'm always looking for nests with feathers in them.

I believe the taller brush probably has something to do with it. I have missed them before and had to double back, after checking 6.

Master chef increases chances of finding more food in loot where applicable, you'll find putting more points into will yield more eggs and a higher chance of them being in those containers.

Finding bird nests is also much easier in the burnt forest and desert if you happen to be looking in the Pine Forest.

Is it lucky looter that helps me find more eggs in birds nests?
From my experience i have never able to get more eggs from nests with high lucky looter.

Only loot abundance affects amount of items found. With 25% (world "almost" empty) you almost never find eggs, and 100% is then cornucopia of eggs.
And when you start to more travel with vehicles, it gets tiresome to jump out and in vehicle. End up buying eggs from trader.

For anyone new or having the same issue as me which is mainly early game surviving off of bacon and eggs recipe Dark Sun has solved your problem. I put 2 points into Master Chef and now I get 1 to 2 eggs per birds nest almost every time. I'm not sure I needed 2 points into it but now I can peddle my bicycle around for about 2 hours of in game time and have over 20 eggs no problem. I use the bicycle because you can change the camera angle and see the nests better in the forest. Thanks Dark Sun!

<!-- Increase the chance to find food items with each perk rank -->
<passive_effect name="LootProb" operation="perc_add" level="1,3" value="2,10" tags="foodSkill"/>

If I'm reading that right, that's 10x for rank 3 MChef. That's ... curious. Not sure how it plays out, what is food competing with or what not, but.. sounds like a lot :)

I think I saw a mod that allows you to build chicken coops.

The amount of bird nests on the ground is unrealistic. There should be less on the ground and then a chance of getting feathers and eggs when chopping down trees. That'd be much more realistic. And yes, hens should potentially give eggs and feather, and snakes should potentially give eggs.

Why not just have TFP add chicken coops and beehives? I mean they copy pretty much everything else from mods so might as well copy those too. Destroy a stump you get a random chance to get a queen bee that you can then use to make a beehive, for the chickens you'd just need a a few eggs and some wood/grass, can hijack the dew collector system to just produce eggs and honey instead of water. Maybe add these 2 new stations to the farming/seed magazines.

I play a mod called Project Z, and its basically vanilla with a whole ton of new content, most things have a improved version of it, and there is several new farming stations, also add's boss zombies, elite zombies, add's a passive skill system based on kills, EG kill X zombies with headshots gets you a bonus to zombies with headshots etc, has one for each weapon too. Has a project zomboid type trait system as well when each new game your char generates random positive/negative traits (I disabled this system myself in my local ver). The mod also is a pure XML mod, so only the server needs to have the mod for multiplayer as the server pushes all its xml's to the clients. It might even work on consoles as it uses no custom coding or models. Its basically what vanilla could be if TFP would start getting better at advancing the game forward instead of reguratating the same game systems over and over and usually making them worse than before they were touched.
