Frostclaws are nonsense

They intentionally made it so those can pass through areas like bars, from what faatal said. It just means updating your base design. That is actually a good thing, though. If you don't need to change your base after they add new zombies, they did it wrong.

So a giant boulder can pass through a tiny opening... makes zero sense. So what's the point of having turrets if switches and relays can get destroyed so easily??? The game is supposed to be a sandbox tower defense zombie game. It's a very bad thing because they only want to make it so people stand in one place with the most OP melee build using the same horde base design. Look at YouTube, people only use two different cookie cutter horde base designs now...

*Certain* people only use cookie cutter horde base designs now. Those certain people were probably all using cookie cutter horde base designs long ago as well (bunkers, for example) because that's just what they do... no creativity. Most people don't even look at YouTube to get ideas of what to build. People build what they want to build and there are a wide variety of horde bases being built. I wouldn't ever use a horde base design from someone else. I'll always build my own, and I always choose to make different kinds of horde bases. Using the same one in every game gets boring quickly.

And it isn't exactly difficult to protect your switches. You don't have to make your entire base out of bars. If you don't copy other people, and instead choose to build it yourself, you might just see that it's not too hard to make adjustments that work really well.

When they get ready to throw, I usually run at an angle towards them. They have missed every time and I was able to get engaged with them to prevent them from throwing more of them.

First time I came across them though, I did the same technique I did with the plague spitters - run straight at them. While that works with the spitters, the frost claws can still toss the boulder right at their feet and damage you.
It's weird. I usually hold Shift and run straight at them, the rock always flies over their head.

I don't see anything wrong with the frostclaw zombies. Every time I come across one, I rush it and kill them with a single power attack to the head with my club. Now the spitter on the other hand is a tad bit more challenging because of their swarms that they spawn but they still die just as easy as the frostclaw.

I run with brass knuckles and the spitters seemed very simple to me. The brass knuckles probably have the fastest attack speed in the game, and the swarm is killed with 1 hit. So if I see a swarm, it most likely won't hit me, I'll kill it first.

Spitters aren't really that difficult... if you see them. If they start throwing swarms at you, especially if multiple spitters are there, and you don't notice them until you start getting hit, then they can quickly become more dangerous than other enemies. Same thing with frostclaws... if you don't see them and get hit by a boulder, it's going to hurt. As long as you see either of them, they aren't really a big deal.

100% this. The major difference is that it's pretty easy to notice frostclaws, but spitters really seem to blend into the background in the desert. I can get hit by a swarm and look around for the spitter and never manage to find it. That's ultimately what kept me from moving to the desert.
