Share your 2.0 Bloodmoon Bases!

Curious to see what kind of horde bases you guys are making in 2.0 so far. I will go first, here is my Day 7 base on my Navezgane map playthrough. I think most of my settings are default except loot respawn off. This spot is a small crypt next to Trader Jen's place.

I'm cutting it close thanks to a storm, but I think those three towers will give me a place to rest between run & gun sessions in the field beyond.251570_20250618202452_1.png

Ladder base for weeks 1 and 2 in the parking lot of Happy Sleep.

In week 1, I built a tower and wanted the zombies to climb it and fall through spikes to the platform where I was standing. But they did not climb beyond my height. Perhaps the tower was too tall.

So for week 2 I raised the platform, and the zombies did use the ladders:

I also made a ramp for the critters that cannot climb ladders and the dogs did use it. Forcing them to run horizontally along the roof made the ramp less efficient than the ladders and therefore the zombies kept using the ladders while the dogs used the ramps:

Just modified the construction warehouse a tad, this is from the morning after -many more wires and spikes...

I have the horde night settings for 5 days + 0 to 3 days to add some spice, this was day 6. Entered the burnt forest in the afternoon having completed the gate on day 5. Bit rushed but was a walk in the park. Early days.

Not much science at work here, just vantage points and killing ground. Spent about 50-50 up and down.

I just got to the desert and there's no time for anything purposeful. I'll fight via Run & Gun running laps around ZMB Radio, climbing up to the roof if I need a break. I spent time making a shack up there in case a storm hit as I'm not sure if storms are possible on horde night. Admittedly, Run & Gun horde nights would certainly be wild in a storm. In a city I might have to look for a parking garage to run around in.

Just a very generic early game horde base, honestly. Was cobblestone with no traps on Day 7 (which was a bit rough, especially since the zombies can apparently fit through some of the shapes I was using.)

I still need to do the floor/outside walls of the trench, but I've been lazy and doing other things.

Was hoping for some plague spitters on Day 14, cause I wanted to see how the bugs would interact with blade traps, but no such luck.

My day 14 bloodmoon. After dying on day 12 or so, I made the risky decision to try to build a horde base setup somewhere in the desert biome for the day 14 horde. My goal was to have my junk sledge crafted for the bloodmoon and almost didn't make it in time. Fun times!

It appears you had no spitters in bloodmoon -- did you have any? I watched parts of the video but not all of it. The status effects from spitters would keep me from making a base in desert. I like desert b/c of oil.

Streamer Ditch said you should build horde bases on asphalt or cement if possible and I generally follow that advice.

None during the bloodmoon that I recall. I've gotten used to them now and they don't bother me much in normal play anymore.

This is usually how I do my bases. Did this on the fly, usually later in game, I'll have turrets placed on the roof, but the way I do my bases, they're a multipurpose base, all of my crafting and bloodmoons are done in 1 place. In the 2nd pic, you can see fencing as a roof, below that fencing is a 54 plot garden, keeps the garden safe and I use the roof to place my dew collecters, keeps them safe from roaming zombies or hordes.

Started our dedicated server this weekend on a new RWG 8K map. Here is one of our first group bloodmoons (party of 3) at "The Redchurch Residence" POI.

I used to do that, but at some point I gave it up. Now I always have 2 bases: one for crafting and one for the blood moon. It's become much calmer to play.

The last couple of days our group decided to leave bloodmoons set to everyday. This was risky as we did this right before all of us packed up our bags in the pine forest to head over to the burnt forest to complete our biome challenge and setup a new base. We ended up holing up in "Jack & Sally's Getway" POI to give ourselves a place to defend from for bloodmoons while we worked on our badges.

Here was our latest bloodmoon...

Yeah, I tried doing the 2 base thing, but never could figure out the point of it honestly.

Well, the idea is simple, if something breaks, it won't be critical. Once during the moon I got several broken boxes and a pretty seriously damaged workbench with a forge. If my game stage was higher, then most likely both the workbench and the forge would have been completely broken. Since then, I have a rule to have 2 bases.

ahh ok gotcha, guess since if you're running solo that would be good, but like for me, I run with my wife and she stays up on the roof of our base while i'm running around outside of our defensive perimeter seal clubbing the zombies during a bloodmoon

First multiplayer horde base in the burnt forest at a small power distribution station POI. It has only been a couple of days since our last bloodmoon but we we were up for the challenge given our current 4+ bloodmoon winning streak (we like to turn bloodmoon on/off whenever we feel like it). This one was definitely more challenging since we were more spread out, less spikes deployed and harder zombies. At game stage 119, I think we had one plague spitter and one yeti, as well as several radiated (including a screamer). A couple of us died but it was still pretty fun.
