So far 2.0 is bad

If it doesn't have an effect then why have the loot stage cap at all?

I did say it has a psychological effect.

I was just analyzing the situation a bit, without any judgement. I'll have to see if a player can successfully progress through the biomes without getting hindered by the caps, otherwise looting would get the short straw again. Crafting is such a boring way of getting better equipment

I got up to the snow badge, and my loot stage in a T5 in the forest was 92, so I wasn't hitting the cap yet. Without the biome bonuses, you'd have to be pretty high level to hit the loot cap in the forest with the Wasteland badge.

Also, I'd argue looting (in 7 Days, at least) is the boring way to get better equipment.

Lies that thing is better then the club. He'll I want a steel version

Yeah it got buffed. I missed that somehow and now it´s equal to the wooden club. Besides that it doesn´t have a book series , so it starts to loose again once you find a batter up.

Why steel? No need for that. The baton and 2 junk turrets combo was already OP af before 2.0. For the coolness factor i would love the plasma baton though. Rebirth and Darkness Falls have it.

To each their own. I prefer looting. Too loot, you need to go kill things, "explore" (as much as is possible in this game, which isn't much), and be active. Crafting is just clicking a few things and waiting. I wouldn't really call it boring, but if I had to choose which is more boring, I would choose crafting.

Batons do need a book series. Tec junky doesn't cut it imo.

But I want a steel one to beat zombies to death with the LAW!!!! but realisticly it would go
Pipe, Stun, plasma

It's mostly that looting require combat, and the combat in this game is kinda lacking. I enjoy mining/gathering. It's almost a zen-like experience where you just get into a rhythm. That's why I dislike biome zombies, they interrupt my rhythm without really adding anything fun/interesting.

But I mostly said that because the (mild) denigration of crafting annoyed me. Though I'd love to have more involved crafting (Vangaurd, the old Sony MMO, had a pretty neat crafting system, as I recall.)

Yeah fair enough. Also, thanks for the feedback. I know when people discuss things they are passionate about or have an opinion on people can get defensive or grumpy. Thanks for keeping an open mind.

On a more positive note. I do enjoy the names of the POIs next to clear and fetch quests.

Been playing nonstop since this morning and have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I normally head directly into my favorite biome, Snow, and setup camp. I initially thought I wouldn't like the update because it would keep me from playing my usual style. But I've had to adjust my play style to the new game elements and it's actually kind of fun.

Instead of being able to go directly into the Snow Biome like previous play throughs, I'm now having to figure out how do I get into my favorite Biome now. It's kinda giving me some story mode vibes if that makes sense. I now have to work to be able to just get in there which is kinda exciting.

So far I've been spending most of my points in Lucky Looter to see how it impacts the quality of items I find in each Biome. Should be interesting.

This is a personal thought for lucky looter, and a favorable bit of RNG. NVG (y)(y), Stealth equipment, no backpack load at night,
Stealth sprint, etc. in the first 7 days of playing 120. That has always been my main investment, that and tracker helps find the ninja
dogs in pois.

Slight update to this nonsense. I am almost at day 28 in the wasteland so I spent some time playing this update and almost have tier 6 quests unlocked.

Storms are still badly implemented and with the changes to them charging up zombies for some insane reason makes them even worse especially with no way for players to counter them outside of hiding inside a building and doing nothing.

The DLC cosmetics. I aint paying for that over priced nonsense. Especially with the insane dye system to change armors or cosmetics colors still not working but hey priorities I guess. Kinda ridiculous they havent fixed an issue like that in over a year but seem to have no problems with paid DLC cosmetics being pushed out and them having a fancy trailer for it.

Biome progression still sucks. Don't see how having to mine up a certain number of ore and killing enemies would contribute to biome survival but I get it 1 year isnt much time to think up a more proper way to do a decent progression system despite players thinking up stuff in a few hours or days.

Its not all bad. Some good changes were made like slowing down the plague spitter bugs so they arent flying at you at near light speed, biome loot bonus is back but with the loot caps it sorta balances things out so players either go to tougher biomes for better loot or keep looting magazines to craft better gear. Its a decent balance.

Ammo in infested quests almost ruins any reason to craft ammo unless you follow the belief system of spray and pray.

Infested quest have to be worth it, they are full of ferals and irradiated zombies, nobody would do them if they are going to spend more than they are going to get as a reward.

Not to mention it's the alternative for someone who doesn't want to craft ammo.

I usually use melee as much as possible so I always have a surplus of ammo. But in 2.0 I have to start crafting ammo because the game mostly gives me HP and AP ammo. But I can only load regular ammunition into the turrets.

Folks can melee through infested quests even on warrior with guns not coming into play often. When you end up with chests of Ammo of almost all types then its an issue. Those quests are unbalanced with the amount of ammo given out.

The reward is what you get from the trader anything else is a bonus. Aim better, use melee or add more points into damage perks. They are already more than worth it, saying the quest needs to give more than what's given also shows what a bad design the quest system is if the expectation is for them to negate crafting and almost anything else since certain players want some ridiculous rewards from it.

You think everyone must play one way.I barely use melee weapons,in a single infestation quest I have to spend a lot of ammo and then craft more for the horde or loot other poi so it's false that you don't need to craft for the rewards,my workbench and chemistry table are running 24/7 making ammo and powder, not to mention screamer's pop up when you shoot firearms. Of course those who play melee sometimes find they have ammo to spare.but do the test go with an ak tier6 and a pistol and see how much you have to spend with all the infernal irradiated ferals etc not to mention bears and direwolves.

I play insane feral sense on,permadeath.

The game dialled to eleven actually causes some challenge? The horror. Sure, having the challenge be something other than "wrench for radiators" would be nice ... ;)
What do you mean? Sure, the game is very easy even at its highest difficulty, but zombies still eat bullets.
