New forums

When I read threads, they don't change from bold to normal. They remain in an "unread" status. I need to manually mark all threads as read from the button on the top right.

That is a bit odd. I have not experienced that personally. I'm using Firefox and Chrome. I also test with a standard user account, so it isn't because of my Moderator permissions.

I just tested this myself, and was unable to replicate the issue you are experiencing.

Are you using your back button after reading a thread? I've noticed that it doesn't refresh the page when you press back the way the old forum did, so you still see things as being unread. If you instead click on the forum link at the top, that shouldn't happen.

Maybe that is something they can fix? So pressing back will refresh the read status on a thread like in the old forum?
 
Also make sure that you are logged in. If you are not logged in, it won't change the status to Read. That is what happened to me when I was logged in on one device and not on a different one
 
The only other small thing I noticed is the names of the mods/devs are the same as us lowly peasants. It was nice to see the gold name colors and know that they were replying to a question or updating us on something. Unless I am just missing something, which happens a lot...

I imagine once they get more into the Theme of the forum, and smaller details like that, we will have the Gold and Blue names back again. (I did try using bbcode, but it did not work at the time.)

Focus right now is on more of the inner workings, and getting the base features functioning the way they intend them to work.

ME TOO! I keep thinking it's a fly! Especially when I'm moving the browser from one window to the next. Please, guys, make it purple or something.
 
One thing I really don't like is the fact that you no longer get notifications if someone you're following posts something.

I am following faatal specifically so I can see when he posts something. It makes no difference whatsoever. I might as well not follow him at all.
 
The thing that bothers me the most (since it is really hard to read in dark mode):

you can also go to 'What's new' and then to 'your news feed'. and see activity for your followed users
 
I think it makes it easier to briefly read first post to see if its something you want to read further about. It also allows users to set up their tutorials to include attractive images for their tutorial to stand out.
