PC Things that you wish you could opt out of.

I like this as a mod or a mode alternative. I proposed something similar in pimpdreams. The only thing
missing is the zombie tally. Right now, there are no real threats in world, so all you do is spelunk POIs
for stuff. And if you add a story, the I/O of it is the same principle minus a tally.

A personal option I'd like is to not tie each Trader to a specific Biome, in the main game. It does work
Right now I am doing a day one Quest in the forest, Given by Trader Hugh, and no glitches.

So, this is my personal quest with the Aide of ZombieNoRespawns. To clear a 10k map of all POI Zs then the only thing would be wandering hordes or BM.

I.e. if the world is really more than just the map, then they can logically wander in :).

I know I mentioned logic in a game.

Actually, no. If you won't get xp or a quest reward for doing a quest together, many (most?) players will do their own quests by themselves.
Hmm, ok, I'll take your word for it - for your group at least. I'm the kinda guy to solo que pvp in an mmo; but I don't really get why one would play a small-group game solo, other than maybe joining a random public server. Esp as the solo version is perfectly viable as is. And ye, I did read your "optional" too; sure, "he started it" but "No. Simply no." is still rather strict ;)

Yup, that follows the thought for my pimp dream. It's similar to Rebirth the Purge. I just expanded my thought to
include securing POI clusters and cities and fighting or protecting from there.

Sure, my response is strict for removal of it entirely. It shouldn't be removed, which was the discussion when 1.0 came out and it got put back in.

As far as your comment on playing a small group game solo, I'm not sure what you are referring to considering what we are talking about has nothing to do with solo play. Those settings have no impact on solo play.

Since it seems necessary, I will clarify...

Optional settings for shared xp (already an option) and shared quests (currently only an option for individual players and not for the game) are fine. Removing the shared xp and quests entirely is not fine. And that was what I was responding to when I said no.

I'm referring to "most people will do quests by themselves". Solo play. In a small group game.

By that I mean that people don't generally want to spend time doing something that offers no reward (xp or quest reward). They might help someone who needs help, but they are more likely to go do their own quests most of the time. They'll still work together for the base and the horde night and gathering resources and stuff, but since you can complete any tier POI solo as long as you have the appropriate equipment for it, there isn't any benefit to spending time doing it together if you get nothing from it. 4 people go in and each gets xp only for their own kills, so each gets only about 1/4 of the experience they'd normally get, assuming an even distribution of kills. And only one person gets rewards from the quest. This also causes issues with someone inviting a low level character to join them because that low level character isn't going to get many kills on a high tier POI and so will not get much benefit from joining the group.

In any case, I had said that optional settings are fine. I only disagree with removing it entirely.

An air drop range option would be nice, to make them feel more dynamic.

An option to disable screamers and wandering hordes would be welcome features as well, and for any other builder out there. <3

A disable trader option in the world generation would be nice as well.

I would like to be able to have an in game "Gag-Order" setting, for each and any trader, when they get entirely to mouthy. that would allow me to instantly silence the infamous bad-mouth fellows. I hate Rekt, and he talks so much poo, I have privately nicknamed him Rekt-tum. A silence him forever button would be nice!

A way to override the programs Screamer Spawning, where I can simply select a maximum daily occurrences allowed in my gaming time/play session. and perhaps a mandatory player selectable cool down timer between spawns. Because sometimes, I feel like slaughtering zombies, and sometimes I want to do something else.

A Trap that doesn't kill a zombie, particularly a Net Trap, would be a nice addition, especially if it could capture a zombie and hold them prisoner, with a stronger net holding them longer. I'm looking at you, little miss screamer, scream all you want, but you cannot escape...

Having a type of sound proof holding cell equipped prison, where you capture screamers with a net trap suspended from a crane, bag them and use the crane to drop them into sound proof holding cells, that you can release them into a killing zone, rinse and repeat....

As someone that likes to craft, I would love to see game settings that disallowed loot beyond your ability to craft. So no Iron tools on day one, unless your character could have crafted such. No such loot, no such rewards, no such trader merchandise. If you don't like to craft, then don't touch that dial (change the setting).

As far as the robotic drone, they need to change the robotic tree (or provide a setting that allows this on a per case/individual basis), because right now, the crafters cannot come close to keeping up with the random loot in game. I can always buy a drone, even a level 5 one, before I can even craft a level 1 drone, which leaves crafting a level 6 drone as the only improvement a crafter can achieve over random luck/loot. This is a crime against crafting. Crafting should be king, not equal to or less than random loot. Give me a setting that allows crafters their 'place in the sun', and others have to wait. Obviously, if you don't like to craft, don't touch that dial/setting.

i would like if zombie humans and zombie animals were distinct. my friend doesnt like the human zombies but we do enjoy(mostly) the animal dust-ups. it would be neat to have bears AND zombie bears in the games we share together
