PC Can we please get 2.0

Patience dear Padawan.  😀

There is far more to programming than what most people realize.  Mods can make all kinds of changes without caring about a lot of the things that the devs have to worry about.  The devs need to deal with far more moving parts.  They deal with the entire game rather than one aspect of it.  The closest to what devs do is what you see from overhaul mods... and those aren't done very quickly either.

You already know TFP's dates are never right, so just ignore them and play the game until the next experimental is announced as coming.  Or don't play and just wait until the next experimental or stable is ready.

Well modders do a great job for 7 days, but a lot of what they do is just tweaking what is in the game or implementing things that aren´t in the game anymore and actually new things that get added are mostly bought assets from the Unity store.

Sure there is a lot of coding in many cases aswell, but not nearly as much as TFP has to do for new content.

Let´s say the Chicken Coop. A modder buys the asset from the Unity Store,  has no design work, no coding work to do for it. That doesn´t help very much with getting 2.0 faster, does it?

As I mentioned in another post, get modders to help you......we will be playing it in a day if you do.  Can we please get this.  Please also stop releasing dates.  You dont follow them at all. Not hating just some good advice.
Oh no. The first one to get 2.0 will be streamers. We ordinary players are not worthy...

You do realize that streamer weekend is basically a good way for them to beta test with more players than they could do themselves and there is always fixes after the streamer weekend before it´s made public? Otherwise they would have to test internally more and it would take even longer until you get it.

Be happy you play on PC because console has to wait even longer than us.

Mostly true.  However, your chicken coop example would still need coding.  They buy the art, but they'd still need to write the code to add it into this game.  It wouldn't just be plug and play.  But you are right that modders generally don't do anywhere near the amount of work that developers do and they don't need to care about whether or not their mod is balanced or if it will negatively impact players or anything like that.

And mods are consistently held to a much lower standard (rightfully so, in my opinion).

The Vehicle FPV mod has a couple of funny bugs: for some players certain head gear aren't removed in first person and can completely obstruct your view. Not to worry, you can still switch to third person view. Of course if you do that you're going to notice that your character's head occasionally disappears. If we had horses it would make a great cosplay as the headless horseman. And really, it's fine. The mod brings a feature I really want, and does it for the low low cost of free.

But move them over to production dev and have them continue their nasty coding standards there? Oh hell no.

I understand that games can be delayed but i do not agree with the radio silence. We are millions of people waiting and we still don't know why. First thing i can think of is crossplay, i's almost impossible, even if you get it working it will soon fail since when the protocols are updated and you need to be a AAA studio to support it. Forget about it, even if you manage to get it working it will soon stop working and the people will expect in and it will be a black hole of resources. So skip that.

Another thing is perhaps you have bugs you need to solve before exp? Well there are about 50 people or more who have dedicated all their free time for up to a decade to coding mods for this game, they know every line of code you have ever written and all of them could help you out, for free, reach out to them! They are the reason people like me spend 1000s of hours in the game instead of 100's.

Third. You have perfect ambasador, use him! Give him exclusive content! You published a video most people missed called "2 0 Desert Storm and Swarm", it took YT 2 days too recommend it too me. and GN&S content always get first priority. USE THAT! Make an interview Temreki and explain the delays and everyone will forgive the delay. Be silent and most of your fans will be angry and many will switch to other games like IzPrebuilt.

Fourth: https://thefunpimps.com/ is down

I love it when people volunteer others to perform a ton of work for free - just so they can get something sooner.  Sounds like you have the best interests for all of the modders out there  🤔

Lol, i have aspergers so did not even think of that. was intending to emil TFP but they have shut down all official emails it seems...

well modders would get the code eariler to improve their mods which seems to be their core objective so win-win?

I argued that for almost a decade, and was turned down.  Then a couple of years ago they added a few modders to internal testing, and they did not help with internal testing. All they did was work on their mods, and ended up getting removed from testing. Which just proved that TFP was correct in turning down my idea the whole time.

And honestly, with code changing nearly daily on the internal patches, it isn't useful for modders to have access to the code to improve their mods.

We are millions of people waiting and we still don't know why. First thing i can think of is crossplay,
from what i was told on forum crossplay has been approved and the pimps are not releasing it, definately blows my mind on that one.

The other thing "millions" on this forum seems to mean thousands or maybe something else, w/e the case numbers dont seem so make a difference. It could be a billion people here and the result is not changing. Definately somewhere down the line communication from the player base wants to who makes decisions doesnt matter.

? Crossplay has been released. Dedicated server support for consoles is not approved yet and is a WIP.

will thats good to know cause i couldn't figure out why it wasnt released if approved. Not sure than why they went on about it being approved but not released than in prior post
