So yesterday PSN dropped ASA as free game... I always told everyone I would not consider buying it before all maps were up and running, but now for free...
After an eternal download I quickly jumped on a familliar map on official, a place were I enjoyed the game for years. It was bad!!!
So I decided to give it another chance on the private cluster I played ASE on for the last 2 years... Getting a few additional mods installed, removing them for they were broken and try again... More than an hour later I finaly could see what all the hype was about: A huge pile of blurriy crap in 4K. Not as bad as the official stutterfest but nowhere near good.
Conclusion: It was full vallue for my money, both zero.

To everyone that complains about 7D2D: This game is a smooth running completed masterpiece compared to the current state of ARK, money well spend!

 
ARK has went downhill so fast. When ASA came out, I was excited. Thinking it was a new game, but was severely disappointed to find out after buying the game, it was just a remake of ASE. I honestly could care less about shimmering water and taller grass lol. I thought it was going to be new maps and new content. After a few days of it, I uninstalled the game and haven't been back since.

I mean, I knew it was just a remake of A:SE on the new engine. I would have just figured they would have put effort into fixing a number of the bugs. They didn't even fix the texture map issues on terrain.

I played it for a while, then they dropped the overpriced DLC, and I knew that was basically the end.  Still pick at it every now and then, but it's nothing new, and they're way behind schedule on releasing maps.

 
Yeah @SylenThunder If I had known it was just a remake of ASE, I wouldn't have bothered buying ASA, from what I had read before buying it, it was all new stuff. On ASE I loved playing on Primitive +, that was actually fun. But the only downside to it was that it was unfinished and had sooooo many bugs.

And last I knew, ARK 2 will not be on PS5 either, I believe it's going to be just on PC and Xbox

The way things go now, ARK2 will not be. Period.

Primitive+ was good fun to try but the bugs did kill it for me, too.
Never realy liked the TEK addition and considered Gen2 with the meawings and incubator as "Pay2Play", beyond "Pay2Win". Initialy I had some hope it would have been a fresh start but the moment it was clear pod were in the game day one I knew they would go for full convenience, catering the huge box building massbreeders. In other words: Farmville with dino's.

 
If they would have fixed the workbench bug, all other bugs wouldn't have mattered to me, without the workbench (key item in game), progression was put to an abrupt stand still.
