Cannot get the prefab editor to make prefabs

been working on a SWAMP POI/BIOME MOD since September 15, 2024 everything was going great until two days ago when I was making the final map where all 12 sections of the SWAMP POI/BIOME were to be placed. well the game crashed or it might have been steam. either way nothing is working all my files are gone and now the PREFAB EDITOR will not let me recreate the 12 sections. these 12 sections were using the entire PREFAB area. so if anyone knows what to do to get it so I recreate the 12 sections please let me know.

I know the Prefab Editor pretty well, but I don't feel like I'm fully understanding the description of what you were creating.

Q: I wonder what directory you were storing your POIs?

Q: What is a "section" and what do you mean by "the entire PREFAB area"?

Q: When the Prefab Editor prevents you from recreating things, do you get an error message? Are there any errors in the console?

Q: I wonder what directory you were storing your POIs?

A: Not sure, guess the default directory

A: There is no checkerboard pattern when I lay the ground tile.

A: No none

Your LocalPrefabs folder ... something like ... <User> / APPDATA / 7DaysToDie / LocalPrefabs ... would be the default for POIs created in the Prefab Editor.

I wouldn't expect this folder and its contents to be destroyed even if you uninstalled the game, but I haven't tried that.

That can be turned on and off in the Prefab Editor's menus. It is "Show Ground Level" if I recall correctly.

It might be that since you weren't seeing the checkerboard pattern that you didn't think you could place blocks as normally you need to place them against something and the checkerboard ground level provides a surface for that.
