PC Why spoons??

I stopped playing console version after a while cos I wanted to be refreshed by the time console got all the new updates and I was ecstatic to finally play it and so I bought the update only to find guns now have the wonkiest ADS and spoons attached?? Are the spoons like an inside joke or something? I feel as though this game is kinda like Borderlands in its sense of humour but why spoons? They just ruin the aesthetic for me. I’m not wanting to go guerrilla or Rambo with the most special forces looking weapons but seriously why do my non handmade weapons look handmade?

The design of the weapons is supposed to look as if they have either been cobbled together from scrap or have already been repaired several times in a makeshift manner. They should not look brand new. Some people don't like that, but I think it fits thematically with a game set in an apocalyptic future.

It suits the handmade weapons, that definitely makes sense. Or even crafting low tier weapons, but surely once you’ve read enough magazines and improve crafting they should look better? At least that would be my presumption.

i certainly don’t think they should get rid of the spoons but at some point I’d like a weapon that doesn’t look like it came from a kitchen drawer lol

There are no brand new items anymore in this world. Kitchendrawer is all you can get until society is established again, no matter how much you read.

You can read as many gun magazines as you like. If you only have scrap as repair material, that's what you have to use.

The internal logic of the game regarding magazines is that you become more selective in your choice of parts. That's why higher quality guns need more parts. So instead of a crooked spoon, you choose a straight one from the scrap you have lying around.

In reality, it's simply that the developers would have to design multiple versions of the same weapon to reflect the progress you'd like to see. That's not going to happen just before the gold version. Maybe there will be mods for the console at some point. Then you can install weapon mods.
