Xbox X -- "continue game" is greyed out and cannot be clicked on to load and play.

I'm on an xbox series X. I've played every day without problems, but in the latest update I can't enter my 200 days game normally. The environment loading screen takes too long. However, the time in the game does not stop, the autosave continues. I know this because one time the game let me in and I was in the middle of the blood moon. After that experience the loading times have been permanent and I have not been able to play since then. I hope they can fix it soon, I love this game.

This is my favorite game. However, the company sold me a good that is not holding on its part of the sale. As a business man, my options for faulty goods is a replacement, repair, or refund in a rapid manner. The better business bureau also backs this. There isn’t a replacement so refund or rapid repair, or start making complaints to the BBB.

There’s no more BBB

That’s not quite accurate. The BBB has no legal authority but can provide mediation and highlight fraudulent activity for public awareness. Worst case scenario their findings can be brought to the FCC

As a busines man you also should be aware that this only goes for products sold as complete finished items. If you buy a DIY kit or a similair unfinished product "as is" the standard rules do not aply. These types of products go in gaming often as "Early Acces", "Alpha" or "Beta". And as far as I know the console versions are sold as exactly that.
Also nowhere is stated they deny repair, I agree it is taking quit long by now but "rapid repair" is a very arbitrary concept if the exact cause is not known yet. In the case the real cause lies at MS (since the other consoles are not having these issues) we can yell at TFP all we want but that would be barking up to the wrong tree.

Not defending anything here but please why not even try to keep it a bit more constructive here, if only for the sake of proving you are the better person as far as you feel the urge to proove anything at all.

Gosh dang bro ... This is Minecraft & Fallout 76 (point system & missions) on super steroids & one of the most intricate and complex games with a mess load of dynamics to it.
With the ability to pretty much terraform the whole Lanscape and have it remember it all. Many games out there have static grounds and tree's with a simplistic aspect to it.
And having to create new code for the consoles which was never done for this game in the past and working out the bugs... And they where in courts from what i understand for 10 something years fighting to fight for their rights to their own game from their other half that abandoned the game or told FPS to screw or something...
Till recently - last 2 or 3 years, they been programming so much, that i'm sure they're having zombie nightmares...lol
i would prefer them getting memory and stability from xbox crashes when 3 or more players join in different parts of the map,  and Dedicated servers all squared away before they add more stuff to the game potentially causing even more instability issues - like bandits or weather conditions, but that's my opinion.
This is one of those 1 of a kind games and i'm happy to be apart of this game's growth from the past when it stopped being updated till now the update progression.
It has alot of potential.

You are accurate that the game is sold as an Alpha or a Beta, however, the term “sold” is where things get a bit muddy. Especially items sold in the U.S. After a monetary transaction, some of these fine print items become easier to take action against, especially when there is the indication that the consumer is being ripped off post sale. Here’s when the term “ethics” comes into play. Nothing decays a business’s popularity like ethical dilemmas.

What can be done to soothe the bowels that are in an uproar? Transparency. It’s nearing 45 days for some of us and we don’t have an inkling of a timeline. You’re telling me that the people whose job it is to develop this game can’t give a timeline? That’s when it’s time to find a new project manager.

Hey folks, I see a lot of banter and just want to check up on the status of the bug (not being able to make a new game, not being able to continue a game, the random GUI glitch at the main menu)

If you are, try deleting all your local files and have the game sync with the cloud

If that doesn't work, delete your local files and launch the game in offline mode, if it works, then you know somehow your cloud data became corrupt

Did you released another patch? There’s no offline mode on the console, you mean disable network? Then how we can sync if local copy deleted.

No console in offline. Idea there is to prevent your console from grabbing the data synced to the cloud, to prove/disprove the data in the cloud being bad

⁹I also can no longer play the game as I am having the same issues as most in this thread.  I started the game up after doing 5 hours of work on a solo world. Had to accept the EULA again and now continue is greyed out, I can't start a new game cause it just stays at the home screen, if I press B  it just put me back to main menu.  So even a new game is not possible, I un-installed 3 times no and still nothing. I tried to report bug on but again the screen just goes blank ,  also there is a small chat box overlaying the "7" on the home screen that brings up a chat that does nothing. I tried requesting a refund and got denied.   Is there any information on a possible fix at some point or am I once again out a bunch of time and money.   Xbox Series X 🤕

Let me better understand you. Currently I have two games, one that I’ve lost during that 1.27 update, the game still visible in saved, but the size is like 11MB and no matter how many times I remove the local copy, it never syncs back.

I also have another game that I’ve started when my first one was lost. That game is always getting restored on my console AND into the Xbox cloud gaming environment. I can go between the console and my tablet with Xbox cloud gaming and pick up where I’ve stopped.

So, this offline exercise makes no sense to me. I definitely don’t have my original game as a local copy, and it seems like the cloud copy of that game is probably corrupted. And the new game just works…

Please let me know if I’m missing something here.

So, Xbox automatically syncs when connected by default, so if you delete locally, you then get your cloud saves synced. So, if your cloud saves were also bad, then all you've done is replaced corrupted with corrupted. So by going offline (e.g. turning off wifi) then you can see how it is fresh with no data, then make sure it works. Then if you had determined your cloud saves are also bad, then go ahead and delete from everywhere at that point or at least narrow down which ones are bad if not all are.

It's more about narrowing it down to prevent more mishaps; but, there's also some save data about your profile that's not tied to the individual game saves/worlds, which hopefully isn't the data that's corrupted.

What exactly what happened and how to get it resolved it still being investigated, but the update should prevent further saves from going bad like they did here (well, and also any older saves that were fine, it's compatible with old saves).  Unfortunately, this will not fix any corrupted saves... in layman's terms, large chunks of data in saves just die when it happens

Did this happen just now?

If so, try deleting your game data locally, and if that doesn't work use the delete from everywhere option. Sorry about that really, it's become a super rare bug that seems to require a certain set of circumstances to happen to reproduce, nobody on the team has been able to get this to happen, on dev kits or retail kits. Unfortunately, it will not fix saves. Without going into jargon detail, the xbox save method was upgraded and then a rare set of players had this happen, so it was swapped to the one where that never happened, compatible with all saves, but won't fix any. But, doing the delete from everywhere, restarting your console (maybe powering it off/clearing the cache) will get you going. That system won't be touched since it works, so until at least 2.0 your new saves should be fine.

Basically, there is no way to restore our lost worlds, the only way is to start a new ones. And by “deleting from everywhere” it means that you want bring the game to it’s default state and go from there.

Yeah... sadly. If you have saves that work, by all means keep using them. But if something is preventing the game from even loading or not loading any saves, then a clean slate like that would cure it.

My Xbox shows that I have 1gig of game data saved on my external drive. I went offline and can’t continue game.

I installed the game on another Xbox that hadn’t yet had it installed and it synced and still can’t continue game.

This sounds like at least one of your cloud saves is corrupted as well. If I understand it correctly, you have to do Jugginators test in the correct sequence:

You first have to go offline, then delete local saves. Then start the game and check if it works.

If this works then you need to go online again and then do a "delete from everywhere".

Generally: It is possible to give a somewhat reliable timeline about a new uncomplicated feature that is being developed. But when it is about bug fixing and especially when the bug can't be replicated by the testers and developers then all bets are off and any timeline is just a wild guess or a lie to soothe customers. This is because of the complexity of software and interconnected systems, independent of what your customer rights are.

In this specific case TFP released a fix for the corruption issue (that was the patch). Without having a way to replicate the bug they can't know 100% the fix works, but it seems they are confident (probably because the bug started to occur immediately after they changed the save method). What is still needed is for the player to remove the corrupt data left over by the previously used unreliable method of saving.

Is there any word from Microsoft since this seems to be an Xbox exclusive issue? As provider of information to developpers and manager of the cloudsave protocol for their platform I believe they share a bit of the responsibility as well.
