Was that piano melody removed in 1.2 that plays whenever you load into your game? I notice that it's extremely silent now when loading into my game, and that music melody no longer plays anymore.

I can't answer for any of the devs, but Steam Workshop support is already planned. I'm betting that will be the extent of their in-game mod support when it's released. (At least on PC, I have no idea how - or if - mods work on consoles.)
I don't know anything about Steam workshop. I assume it's a mod organizer of sorts? Would you have to close the game to make changes?

That's interesting. As far as I know, the menu theme song is one stereo audio file, as opposed to the gameplay music which is made up of individual audio tracks that get mixed together dynamically. So unless they changed the way the menu song plays, the audio file itself would have to be new for the piano to be missing.

With that said, the menu theme plays fine for me. Piano and all.

EDIT: Check your audio connections (headphones, etc). You might be experiencing what's called phase cancellation. If your headphones aren't plugged in all the way, sometimes you will get mono sound but anything that would've been in the middle (like the piano) will get cancelled out.

Couldn't create a Convex Mesh from source mesh "hull_forklift_tire" within the maximum polygons limit (256). The partial hull will be used. Consider simplifying your mesh.

Convex mesh would not cause that, but failed creating window group would break the UI. Check for missing or corrupt files. Remove any mods.

That's interesting. On PC, if you have XML only mods and you're the host, whoever joins you will also have those mods initiated.

Test it. Remove all mods except for the XML only mods, host the game and see if your parent gets the mods too.

@faatalAlso, would it be possible to get in game menu options to disable mods, instead of having to keep moving things in and out of the mods folder? That would be a nice convenience for when playing with others that don't have the mods, as well as playing with consolers.

(here comes the yapper once again, sorry y'all)

I'm definitely going to try this next time they have off from work (that way testing can be done, since we only have a few hours to play on days they don't). And if it does work that will be so awesome, because I have a few non-.dll mods that are simple quality of life we both want to use. Are mods with icons allowed? I really want to add mine (Various Victuals) but it uses custom icons, and I think both people need to have the mod at that point for it to work.

I also thought hosting the server was going to be rough on my PC, from all that I've heard about people hosting servers on their own machines, but I saw no uptick in resource usage the entire time—it more or less stayed exactly where it was normally. The only time I lost frames was when my parent first spawned in (which, arguably, is honestly fine).

Which speaking of my parent and playing with them, Crossplay went great and it's so much fun!! Our only (very minor) complaint is having to push to talk. It's easy for me, because I set a macro on my mouse to Toggle Hold ( so it holds down the Push-to-Talk key indefinitely ), but for my parent they have to hold down the D-Pad lol. Other than that it ran really frickin' smooth the whole time, at least on my end. I forgot to tell them to switch to performance mode so that'll be another test for another day.

Only weird and probably user-error bug so far is that our shared quest (a clear area) was completed, but when we left our P2P it told us we failed it (we hadn't spoken to the trader yet, but that shouldn't have mattered). I have yet to check and see if it actually did fail or if it was just a fluke, but it is something to look out for I guess??

But other than that one thing it was great and it feels just like playing split-screen Co-Op on the old version, minus all the glitching and the inevitable MD5 crash. Loved it, no actual/legitimate complaints. And apart from my own silliness, setting up the server actually was plug and play! Thanks, y'all!!!

I am trying to play with a friend on Xbox from PC(steam specifically) and i cant turn on crossplay. I go into settings and try to turn it on but it is greyed out and say that cross play is currently disabled on platform. but i do not see anything released saying this or anyone else have this issue.

They said XBox is taking longer to become available than expected.  Just have to wait for 1.2 to be available for XBox, unfortunately.

I don't use headphones, and I think you're not understanding what I'm trying to say so I'll try to break it down the best that I can. You know when you go back to your game and press continue and it starts loading you back into your game and when it's finished on the loading screen you click spawn to get back into your game. That little chime that plays for a few seconds as soon as you spawn back into your world is no longer there. It's a dead silent when spawning into your game now. It was working before I updated to 1.2 so I'm trying to figure out if this was intentionally removed in 1.2 or is it broken?

@Hated I think I might have discovered an audio bug with the game, unless it was removed intentionally...Idk? With that said, that iconic melody/tune/sound that plays for a few seconds as you're spawning into your world(s) is missing and it no longer plays anymore. I shared a few video clips that I uploaded and shared on my X account. I'm currently playing on Xbox Series X, so I don't know if this is an issue with all platforms atm or it's just related to Xbox? Hope this helps...cheers! 🫡

Hey there, I'm having an issue with my dedicated server. I am able to connect to it from PC, but I have friends who want to connect via PS5 and can't see it from the Join Game section.
It shows that the server does not have Crossplay enabled, but I do have EAC enabled from the serverconfig XML and the map that was generated is at the max size of 8192. Were there any additional tags in the serverconfig XML that were added between v1.1 and v1.2 to enable crossplay?

I don't think dedicated server crossplay is available right now, just peer to peer. Hopefully it won't take much longer

If it helps, I have the same experience with no music clip playing after clicking on "Respawn" and entering the game.  I think b25 also had this.  Main menu music is present as expected.  It's fine with me, just a new experience.

hello I would like to know if it is normal that with the xbox version games I cannot join a PC version. I would like to point out that all crossplay settings are activated and that both games are on the same version. the pc version contains mods, is this the problem? if so, is it planned to be able to join a party which contains mods in the future (let me clarify, I am not talking about adding mods on console but joining a server which contains mods on the server side)

I don't think that's going to be possible for a while if ever.

I removed mods and got it to work. thank you

It's a way for games distributed on Steam to have a common way to search, download, install, and play mods for games that have Workshop support.

For example, if you have Half-Life 2 installed (and you should), its page will have a "Workshop" tab near the top. If you click on it, it will bring you to a list of mods for Half-Life 2, which are categorized and can be searched the same way you search Steam for games. (You can see the original Stanley Parable there, for example.) Once you find a mod you like, you "subscribe" to that mod to download it and it will show up in game.

Steam also provides APIs for game developers, so some games have Workshop support in-game. I don't know if 7D2D will go that route or not. It would be cool if they did.

Sometimes I go back to Steam and read the comments there on the release announcement post.

There's so much crap goin' on... so much ignorance. So many comments that have no basis in reality.

But I can't help or correct the record anymore, so I'm just looking at the mess TFP mods there have created on Steam.

This happened because over the years many veterans were expelled from the community while trolls and haters were protected.

@madmole you guys should review those who moderate Steam for you, because some of them are making things worse for your business in my opinion.

That's what you reap for what you've sown.

On a side note: most people don't understand how to activate the stable version on Steam, and they keep saying it didn't "appear" in the Beta list. Go figure. ;)

When will you guys fix OpenGL issue where bursting pipe flames are completely invisible for us Linux players? We can hear the sound, but no flames whatsoever, it has been this way for multiple releases now, I saw people talk about it on Steam forums. Vulkan seems to fix the issue, but it's unusable still, keeps spitting a ton of errors. Oh and some random textures just keep on flickering... I think those issues have been reported, but sadly unfixed for so long.

Seems a case where owners of AMD graphics cards are better off (assuming you have an nvidia card). I have used vulkan for many years now and had maybe 2 occasions where it didn't work for a few weeks

As of now only person to person hosting is available for crossplay. Joining dedicated servers will come later. Regarding mods, I don't know whether it will be possible for an xbox or PS5 player to join a modded server or not. I guess you could try connecting to hosting PC player who has their game modded right now and see what happens.
