We used to have a blunderbuss. I wonder if they just reused that effect. I hardly use guns in 7d2d so it isn't a big issue for me, but lots of old West games have insane clouds of smoke to replicate black powder loads, but we have shells in casings. Not remotely the same thing. The reason there is so much smoke in black powder, is due to an incomplete burns and lots of powder being forced past the projectile on ignition from the explosion. Modern guns don't have this issue for the most part because of the tight tolerances. Now a pipe gun sure. But a legit machined barrel in the last 50yrs, there is no reason for poor tolerances.
