Bring back Alpha 20 game mechanics

1.0 is lacking of some great mechanics from the older versions and I know I'm not the only one that misses them. Just look at Steam reviews. We would be glad if the devs brought them back!

Are you talking about he 86% positive reviews during the last 30 days or the 88% positive reviews overall?

The roadmap is packed with new content and overhauls of existing mechanics. They want to be done end of next year. It´s understandable that some people don´t like the new mechanics, i don´t like all of them either but i simply use mods, but unplanned changes aren´t going to happen anymore. That train is long gone.

What's funny is that during Alpha 20 we had "Bring back A18 gameplay!" posts and during Alpha 18 we had "Bring back A16 gameplay!"

There are always people who are unhappy with whatever the current version is compared to whatever past version they loved. Guaranteed that when 2.0 releases with environmental biome weather effects reinstated there will be people who are annoyed that they can't just wander into any biome they please without consequence any longer and we will see some "Bring back 1.0 game mechanics!!" posts as well.

I was thinking I'd be funny by saying "Bring Forward V5.0", but longing for future features is just normal.

Bring back some internal pre-Alpha release features!

Bring back sharp sticks and the crafting grid.  Or else I'll quit and stop paying my monthly subscription.

Back when they first recorded VO for that first stab at bandits there was an internal build where they replaced the chicken clucks with the bandit dialogues.

Cursing chickens for V1.2 anyone?

Care to list them? It's a bit vague going, "I like the older stuff", as it's a game that's been on the go for over a decade, there's LOTS of older stuff no longer in the game. (edit: I realise you are meaning A20, for some reason I missed that in your title - would still need to know what you want "back" though).

If it's the debate regarding learning by rote/learning by reading/learning via perks, I really doubt things will change now.

I take it you know you can install any previous version you want, if you are on PC/Steam. There is a section called Betas that allows you to choose previous alpha versions.

Love this game, I'm really looking forward to the next update. @Roland question! Do you know if the NVG graphical bug will be fixed for Xbox in the next update? I'm mainly asking because, it's the only version of the game that has this visual bug when you turn them on. With that said, if you don't know the answer to my question it's ok, no worries, I was just curious if you knew or not...thanks!

Sorry, but I don't know. All I know is they are working on a number of fixes and optimizations for the console version but I don't know which ones will be in the next update.

It's okay, no worries, I appreciate it for taking the time to respond to my question. With that said, I hope NVG can get fixed for Xbox in the near future if not in the next update. I've tried using the NVG with the visual bug, but the black spots all over the screen are quite noticeable so I tend to never install them. I'd love to be able to use them more while looting or doing quests at night. Thanks, Roland. 🫡
