Hosting lag help!

Hi! Hoping someone can help me out. I play the game alot with my gf and whenever I host our world I get major lag. It's only us 2 and we don't have the issue when she hosts. The pc is plenty powerful and I can join other servers and play sp with no issues however when I host the game feels like it's only managing 5fps. Every other game I play I can run at max settings however for some reason 7dtd doesn't want to play ball. Any ideas?!

Your computer not powerful enough to be both the host for a MP game and a client?

Should be. I7 8700k, 32gb 3200mhz ram, 3060ti, installed on an nvme ssd. When I play with my gf hosting it seems to run fine and her pc is much lower spec than mine. Wondering if firewall/security settings don't play nicely with the game or something like that

Hmm, post a log file please, preferably to pastebin. Antivirus/security exclusions will help, but I think something else may be wrong here if your FPS goes that badly, hopefully something sticks out in the log file

Hm, besides a dip to the 30s (wonder what POI you were in), I don't see much. What kind of lag is it? Do you think you can catch a video? Like, is it network lag (zombies zipping around, etc), or does your camera feel very stuttery?

Looking around is smooth however moving is not. It seems takes multiple seconds for movment to occour then suddenly ill zip forward for however long i had been pressing forward. Its only when I'm hosting the world and never in single play or when joining a server

Strange... yeah definitely add the game folder and save folder (%appdata%/7daystodie) to any security exclusion lists you have. Also try port forwarding, 26900 TCP and 26900 - 26902 UDP. You may also want to turn off the network workaround option in the General Settings, but that shouldn't - in theory - cause that, but worth a shot. Also, if you have any "game boosting" programs running, turn those off as they never help and usually cause issues. A log file from your gf may shed some more light.

Thankyou for the help so far! Here's my log file

You're welcome, thanks for that log! And, I really don't know why this would cause it, but it does make sense thinking about it. NET: LiteNetLib trying to connect (...) NET: LiteNetLib: Connection failed: ConnectionFailed

@Justchilling69420, how you port forward depends on your router, but generally you want to set your PC to have a static internal IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.20) and not have DHCP automatically change it (usually called Lease or something), and then port forward those ports I mentioned to it. That should help significantly.
