Install custom POIs on remote PCs?

Do all custom POIs need to be installed on remote PCs?  Or will it download from a server during  Downloading Prefabs if there aren't any custom textures?

Otherwise, how can you have custom POIs on a dedicated server if the players aren't downloading them ahead of time?

Pois need to br server and clientside .

Players joining server will need to download as well 

 
For clarification...

If a POI is only on the server, you have certain problems:

  • Any triggers (buttons, key racks, etc) will not work for a player who does not have the POI installed on their computer.  If the POI doesn't have any triggers, this isn't an issue for that specific POI.
  • The imposters for the POI will not be available for a player who does not have the POI installed on their computer, at least not for quite a while in the game (the game eventually generates them, but it takes a long time for that to happen apparently).  This means they will not see the POI until they get close enough to it.  This isn't necessarily a big issue as it's just a display issue at a distance, but people tend to prefer seeing the POI from a distance.  If they don't care about that, then this isn't an issue for them.

But generally speaking, it is best for all POI to be installed on each player's computer for best results.  A server using custom POI should provide links for where to download each POI and/or POI pack, just like they'd do for mods that are being used that aren't just server side mods.  Those should be downloaded before the player joins the server, just like is necessary with mods.
