PC Falling into water is a deathtrap

Perfect example is the New Life Hope Cabin, there is a 'small' drop that lands you in water. Broken legs straight away. But if you want to jump off Dishuion onto a hay bay that's fine?

Is this only my issue or are others experiencing this?

Water and swimming, like ladders, can be a wee bit ... awkward in my opinion. It's just always been a "feature" of 7 Days to Die, I'm afraid. Like Gyrocopter controls, they're not the best. I haven't seen the building in the current build yet, but the old waterworks has this little snaking water route you had to negotiate. After trying it the first time I really preferred to just wood-block across it.

Ha, I did the exact same thing in that POI (T2 if I remember correctly). I discovered the trap without falling into it, then looked around the upper level of the POI and didn't discover much. so decided "why not just jump into the pool of water?". "It's not that far down, and there is water to break my fall". Turns out you fall through water as fast as falling through air in 7D2D, so I ended up with a broken leg. And of course TFP being TFP was immediately rushed. I at least had my pipe machine gun ready, so only lost some ammunition and had to make a splint with the loot I collected.

It's my fault really, I saw a ladder leading down but decided jumping would be funner. And for a split second thought "maybe there is no cheese in this POI", forgetting the golden rule of 7D2D. If it looks like a trap, it is a trap, if it doesn't look like a trap, you didn't look hard enough,

Oh I knew there were 3 other ways down. But I'm sure falling damage into water is new. I've always dropped down.
