Solo, offline player: Game does not always return the backpack after respawning. This requires starting over, naked and afraid. Getting really old, as I can't get any progress. What's going on????

Sounds like in your settings you have drop everything on death. You can change that to only have minimal death penalty.

Well, that is the default setting.

@MadDad Is that what is happening or do you mean your stuff is just plain gone? There should be a blue icon of a backpack on the map, and I think your HUD as well.

I feel this may be on topic here, I've died in the attic of PoI's, come back for my backpack, only for it to have been teleported out of the attic to on top of the roof.. Was very frustrating, as I was counting on getting my gear back in order to finish business.. didn't go well.

I had mine spawn in a corner under a concrete corner/floor recently, surrounded by feral wights and spiders. (Sunset Retirement Home) Count yourself lucky. ;)

I had the opposite (sort of). I had a crash (my PC is old) and I saw an error regarding the motorcycle. Later, I found a second identical motorcycle and I now have two of them. Rooftop and basement trap would be v annoying

I died 3 times i nthe post office
Too funny. I actually set up a good retreat before wandering into the basement, but was immediately surrounded and couldn't get to it. Even funnier, though, was that all the zombinos were fast asleep when I went back in after it and I do mean so fast asleep, I could bump into them and they just kept on sleeping. Alas, that room was so packed, I couldn't get through them to get to that corner. I had to punch Mr. Wight in the face to get them to move. Had opened the outer doors, so it turned into a game of ring around the rosey, trying to lead them away from it. Finally crafted some crude weapons and stood on the dumpster cubbie to take them out so I could destroy the floor and get my gear back.
