Ive been talking with my buddy about early game weapons and how some just cannot compete with others, even with perks and id like to start a discussion on that today.
My opinion is that the Pipe Shotgun and Pipe Rifle are quite literally useless compared to the Pipe Revolver and Pipe Machine gun. Ammo count matters.
Id like to suggest pipe shotgun get 20-30% reload speed increase base. The pipe rifle should get an over-under barrel. This will make both much more competitive with other weapons, especially with perks.
Early game knives are problematic. I remember reading in the configs that knives have 0.2 reach advantage (Hunting only?) and would like to suggest 0.2 for bone, 0.4 for hunting and leave rest as is. Hit and run is the only method where these shine till way late and they need SOME kind of early help as knives cannot compete with many other melee. (Its not that knives are bad, perce... Its just that they are really non-competitive with other melee.)
Spears need an early game mod that gives them a broad head to utilize its benefits more effectively. (Bigger hitbox mod or just give it bigger hitbox on power attack with perks?)
Early game food, water and glue feel really good now. (Thanks for those buffs to drops)
Zombies:
Zombies are tanky enough, for sure.
However I feel like their stack-bonus damage is too low. Late game armor and I feel no threat, even from stacks and thats not cricket with me. Even wasteland I only kinda fear the new, buffed bears and zombie wolf. (I use light armor with armor plates into the laaaaaaaaate game.)
...Do set bonus' have some bonus' hidden? My friend and I both noticed that we gather WAY more gems and diamonds with a T6 steel pick and a full miner set...
(Is that why we had to 'trust you, its a buff?'
All in all, I love the 1.0 update and feel the most the game needs is some adjustments, balancing and CROSSPLAY
