So... I'm just curious. Does the "Console" mean before or after?? I mean is it for the new "Consoles"? Can we, Xbox One users, even play the game?? There's this talk about Console players. Which "Console" players are we talking about?? Because I was excited to learn that TheFunPimps actually released the new version of 7 days to die, or what term I picked up to use, don't ask, 7d2d. I instantly went to purchase the newly released version but later learned that the game isn't compatible?? So... I purchased a game that I've so dearly enjoyed playing to learn that I will probably never be able to actually play the "new, 7d2d??" Based on the game being solely released on the next generation of games?? Even as an "Alpha?" Please answer!!

Yes the new console version is for just next generation right now, its possible someday it will be cloud playable om Xbox one.

When you go to purchase in the store while on your Xbox one it should say not playable on this device as the purchase tab. At least that is how games like small land  or baldure gate  that are onky made for next gen. You literally click "this game is not playable on your device" tab that warns you to purchase it. Maybe buying on xbox.com it does not warn you, not sure

That much maybe true. However, I think the developers could've picked a better word-play than console edition. Clearly it's not meant for console players but better yet for the "Next Generation" of gaming. A highly-anticipated release?? Knowing gamers of the original "Xbox One"  community deserves a better explanation than that. I mean to me, that's just not good enough. Truth be told. I've played 7 days to die for YEARS... Literally. With or without game development in high hopes of the developers do something with the game. SOMETHING... but not like this. I've been a lunatic for this moment!!! But only to come to learn that it's only meant for the "Next Generation" of gamers to enjoy the glory of the newly released 7 days to die!?! I'm sorry... but this isn't an "Alpha" moment in gaming. More like the "Omega." Respectively.

I mean I’m a console gamer, have been ever since my 2 choices were Apple IIe and NES, and am playing on my console so definitely a Console Edition. I’m just happy the Console Edition matches the PC Edition and hope they can keep that up for as long as possible. But Elite Dangerous couldn’t do that with space legs and I understood why.

So here is the why in this situation, last gen can’t handle it. Just like they should have only released Cyberpunk for the new gen. That was a dumpster fire and if TFP tried to put this on last gen consoles they would melt. They do not have the power needed and could barely handle the old version which had so much less going on.

This is they way of gaming either upgrade or get stuck not being able to play new games. Happens more with consoles but a fact of PC life as well. If that isn’t something you can handle this might not be the activity for you. This has been the way since the beginning.

TFP couldn't handle it?? How could they not when Xbox One users aren't getting the satisfaction of the newly released game?? I know crap about PC. I'm not one of those gamers. I'm strictly console. Started with Xbox360. Bled into XboxOne. More like forced but was satisfied with the XboxOne move. Not everyone can afford that next generation of gaming lifestyle. TFP needs to understand that. XboxOne is still alive AND breathing. I don't think it's fair to XboxOne Console gamers like myself to not get the experience of. I can still hop on and play a game on XboxOne. Just like with the Series X/S. Well... I don't own a NextGen console. Would LOVE to be a part of the NexGen but for some people, until we can afford it, we're stuck with XboxOne. I, too, am a fan of the older systems. Unfortunately better things get released and yes, old habits die hard but it doesn't mean they're dead. I just want to be able to play the game on XBOXONE!! I just really think the developers need to reconsider. Respectively.

It's not TFP that couldn't handle it, it's your stone age console that can't handle it!  Unfortunately, it's a fact of life for both console and PC, if you don't keep up to date then you'll struggle to get the latest games.

Nobody thinks the old consoles are dead. Or that it wouldn't be wonderful if the game ran on it. But the game got a lot more features and all those features cost more CPU power and RAM. If you have kids and they grow up and don't fit into their old clothes anymore you have to buy new bigger clothes as well, right?

I think you misunderstand backwards compatibility.  A console that supports backwards compatibility will run games from the previous generation, that does not necessarily mean that the previous gen console can run games made for the newer generation.   In some cases this would be possible, but not it would seem in the case of this game.  Do you not think that if it were possible to make it work on Xbox One or PS4 without an enormous amount of compromise to the base game they would have done so for the extra revenue alone?

Pretty much this.  Initially TFP wanted to make the new version available on the XB1 and PS4 if it was at all possible.   Instead, they have been having to cut corners on settings and features just to get it to run on the current modern generation of hardware. There is no way it can possibly run on the older hardware. The hardware is just too obsolete. Something I have covered in detail previously

Do you guys need for me to make a new chart and update it to V1.0 standards instead of the old chart which was based on Alpha 14.7?

NES, Genisis, Sega CD, N64, game cube, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox one. I still have all my old systems, I also wanted this one on Xbox one to save me 1,000 to buy two new Xbox X. However with games like BG3 small lands not playble and only a few new games released on xbox 1 its time to move on. Next year we will have Enshouded, Nightengale and first dwarf unfortunately none of those will be old box either.  I don't know of a single game still to come out that will be on the old one.

When I retire I will game through my golden years

I’m like you still have all my old systems though I went NES, Genesis, Dreamcast,  and all the PlayStations. Did buy the XBox  because wanted to play Fable and Morrowind. This game is really making me want build a PC. Last time I did that was when some friends convinced me to play Battlefield 2 with them back in 2006ish 😂 Never plan to stop gaming hope I’ll get to retire 😂

Xbox Series are not even next gen they are 6 years old and if your still complaining about games not being compatible than you can be the people who wanted all the updates and new content that require more than a xbox one which is a 14 year old device. Upgrade or get left behind that’s gaming.
