Problem with Score lockpicking

To preface this, I'm mostly a console player with only a few PC games under my belt so I'm not super well-versed in the deeper aspects of editing mod files.

I could use some assistance in regard to the skyrim style lockpicking that Score enables. I have multiple copies of 7days for a few different overhaul playthroughs such as Darkness Falls, War2zuk AIO, Wasteland, and a modded vanilla. They all use use Score which I used to be able to do the skyrim lockpicking back in alpha 20 and I've watched up to date playthroughs where the player uses the skyrim style.

But now every separate instance of Score is just using the vanilla variant of lockpicking with the timer. All my mods are up to date and I'm on alpha 21.2. I've gone into the blocks html file under Config and set advanced lockpicking to true and nothing. I've downloaded the skyrim style modlet that it says it works with and nothing (Though admittedly that one doesn't seem to have been updated in a while, but did come with Darkness Falls🤷‍♂️).

Is there something I'm missing or is there some change that came with 21.2?

Any help for this would be greatly appreciated and please let me know if you need more info.

P.s. Also, i can't remember if you used to also be able to unlock doors doing this too which is the main reason I want this fixed.

 
You aren't on controller, are you? I think sphere has it set to disable the minigame if it detects a controller.

 
I am indeed using a controller plugged into a laptop.

I had thought of that so i tried using the keys and mousepad to no change but the controller was still plugged in when I tried. Thank you for that info. 

Do you know if there is a way to re-enable it for controller or does it break things if used with a controller?

 
I think he coded it to disable the minigame if a controller was detected. Not sure if he has an override for it as I think a controller just doesn't work with the minigame. @sphereii Is this correct?

 
I definitely remember doing the minigame on a previous Darkness Falls playthrough in either A20 or A19. And I had a controller plugged in as I've always used controller (I'm but a humble console main) but maybe I used the keys to actually manipulate the lockpick, which I'd be totally fine doing again if it's possible to enable it.

 
That is correct, for the controllers, the mini-game is skipped. This was done because some people are playing on the couch, and not necessarily at their computer.

Thank you, it's nice to know there is a reason and my game files aren't just borked. Is there a way to enable it to work with the controller?

 
I probably can. I have a UI window that you can see when you press Esc to get the menu. There is a Toggle there for using legacy lock picks. Maybe I need to make a toggle to force the mini-game, regardless of input.

I see that, though it only appears on my modded vanilla game which I guess is more on the overhaul modders side. 

That would be a nice feature for controller users like me. Though is there something in the game files I could edit to enable it myself?
