Unfortunately I agree. With 1.0 happening, there will be a big influx of people who do not know about the official channels for information. (In fact that link was the first time I ever saw that FAQ page, and I've been playing the game for a decade.)

@SylenThunder while I understand you're probably used to dealing with cranky old-timer @%$#s like myself, please keep in mind that once 1.0 drops, 99% of the people who ask questions here will be total noobs. So please make an effort to be forgiving of their understandable ignorance, and try not to be dismissive. Thanks!


Agreed. TFP's PR and Marketing departments have never been their strong suits, but in preparation for the fabled cutting of the red ribbon that is the 1.0 release, they really need to invest in cleaning up their act in some places. All too common, you'll see negative Steam reviews where customers claim to have been patronized on the forums. It could absolutely be worse, but SylenThunder's comment is something you'd regularly find on a subreddit. I mean no ill will towards him or anyone else here, but whether they accept it or not, they're directly representing TFP here, and with the projected massive influx of new players, plenty are going to judge the development team, the company, even the game, based on their interactions with official staff. The response above was ugly, at best.

TL;DR: TFP should really look into expanding their marketing department, with a focus on professionalism and quality, while ensuring that aforementioned responses to perfectly inoffensive questions are never tolerated. (Their recent 1.0 gameplay trailer hopefully represents a tiny step in the right direction.)

Does anybody know if the night-vision will be converted into helmet mod in 1.0?


I'm curious on this as well.

Also, have there been any changes made to the water purifier mod?

 
More changes for RWG coming in 1.0:

RWG highway generation uses a new algorithm.
RWG highway generation allows double connections between towns.
Added RWG big cities can have two gateways per side.
Added RWG big cities generate a highway bypass ring.

This is a 10k, many towns with 30% wasteland. Generated in 1 minute, 12 seconds. Has 4 of the new big cities.

@faatal , how much does antialiasing improve when using FSR 3? Could you share with us a screenshot of what the game looks like with FSR 3 in quality mode? And if possible, then in other modes.

And are there any improvements in AA?

Gray - downtown

Blue - commercial

Yellow - industrial

Green - residential

Cyan - rural

Darker of those colors if remnant.

FSR AA looks much better. Like TAA, FSR AA uses camera jitter, so it is not quite the same effect in a picture or when standing still.
