PC TIL: Exiting during a Blood Moon starts it all over again when you return

New play through, first Blood Moon was typically short, so I headed back to my "normal" base and exited (time for bed). Came back to it and, once loaded, suddenly heard a LOT of zombies out there... surprise? Jumped out of a window and tried to make it to my horde base, realizing too late that it was kinda hard to find in the Blood Moon's hazy red darkness. Fun times...

It is a feature, it's been mentioned by the devs that they use it. It's been in since at least A14 when I started playing. Of course, it's TFP so it could be changed/removed at any time. I use it often early game if I have the resources to do so.

Yeah, when the horde ends early and I still feel up to it, I start it all over again.

This is also great if you end early enough (typically early-game) you can then go quest or raid out in the world without being bothered by wandering zombie spawns (there will of course still be spawns inside POIs). Also a great time to go mining!

IIRC, the restart is in place so players do not directly avoid the Bloodmoon Horde by logging out and logging back in.

Obviously, it can be used to a players advantage and not just their disadvantage.
