PC Started a new game and there was Bambi. No feathers!

I couldn't believe it. I usually find bird's nests right away. But not this time!

So I back off about 200 yards a completed the quests until I got to the bow and arrow and I clicked on something, I don't know what, but the pointers to the nests went away. Bambi was moving away from me! At least I had an approximate idea where they were and I found four and Bambi was walking straight at me. Accurately placed headshot out of stealth.

Must have been like Tony Soprano at the end of the series.

This game always, always, finds a way to keep something you want away from you. Still haven't found any honey

don't search for honey, you can get it crushing tree stumps.
