PC What will happend after gold?

4. What the hell? so.... honestly only left adding bandits and... it will be all. So.... even it is possible that 7DTD get gold in this year O.O
Lol. Absolutely not. Maaaaybe next year at the earliest. Faatal has already said he's tackling bandits in 2 phases which means at least 2 alphas for them minimum. And there's still water and several other things. Unless they finally stick to the whole shorter dev cycle thing, a22 wont be till this time next year at the earliest I'd imagine. And that's being nice and assuming a21 wont take a year.

What the hell faatal want to do with them. i think it will be over complicated.  Idk how is going  work with models but still - i don't see any reasons why he think about  making it in two parts

I figure the first run will be simpler AI and just getting them playable for balancing and stuff. Then once that's done and performance is set he can make them smarter where possible.

My question for after it goes gold (Think I did ask this once before long ago) is what happens to the forum.

I mean will there be so much activity as there is now. Will players move on to other games once no new (not much new) things are planned for or being added.

I know there may be a few who keep this place alive but once TFP starts on a new game will it only be the die hards here.

Makes me anxious in a way on what the future holds. This is the first game I really played in about 25-30 years. Made a lot of online friends playing it. Would be sad if everyone just slowly drifted away...would remind me too much of high school.

Well fatal say they work now like zombies with weapons. this good enough

@Roland Steamworkshop is only a possibility? That´s a must once it´s finisheded imo. Not adding a QoL feature like that would be more than just dissapointing.

After the game goes gold, everyone can finally, finally complain about everything. Just get it all off your chest. Throw all the toys out of the pram. Comprehensively vent your spleen. Except for the millions of new buyers. They're going to love the game just like we all did when we first encountered it.

TFP will make phat bank. Finally gonna get the gold 22" spinners on the Fleetwood.

Sorry. I meant possibility in the sense of whether it gets done before or after gold and not whether it gets done at all. If they get to steam workshop integration before the game goes gold then it won't be one of those things they will do after the game goes gold. If they don't get to it before they release 1.0 then it will happen in a 1.x version. That's all I meant.

The game will leave early access status, no longer be in alpha, and any features in the game will for sure be the intended finalized design with no ambiguity left over whether they are just work in progress placeholders.

There will be plenty to talk about and without easy phrases to banish criticisms. Should make for some rousing discussions. ;)

Also A16 lovers are always around willing to talk about the glory days of the game...

Did I miss something? 🤔

Not at all. Go opt in to A16 on steam and give it a go.

I am actually playing a bit of A16 now. Also have 5, 6, 8, 17, 19 and 20 versions installed that I start up now and again. I have vanilla versions from 5 up to 20 downloaded. All except for 7. For some reason I can't get that one to download.

I think not because... there will be nothing to say anymore - no waiting for new content , no chance for changes.... just endless void of despair and sadness...

All of the people who used to complain that the game was in alpha for too long will be around to complain that the game doesn't get updates.

Saying people are going to complain is kind of like saying water is wet. I'm pretty sure that's why we developed language in the first place.

I liked Alpha 16 and 17. If I had a preference it would be for 17 though.

it will be not this same because it will be not funny anymore

Well 1 think was.... spear soo... stab stab

I guess I'm wrong then, because water is not wet.
I hate water

This silly argument is based on the premise that something is wet only if it is touched by water and therefore a person that is splashed by water can be wet but the water itself can't be wet.

Unfortunately for that argument, one of the fundamental principles of water is that its molecules are adhesive to each other so every bit of water is touched by other water at all times making all the water just as wet as anything else that is touched by water and thus...wet.

The only water that couldn't be wet would be a single molecule of H2O out of contact from any other H2O molecule.
