Stuck in "creating player"

Recently when me and my friend were playing, we had a huge connection issue and from what I can see, my character files became corrupted. I scrounged through forums for like 30 minutes or so, and nothing so far has helped. We've tried removing the files for my character and Steam ID entirely, didn't do it. We've tried removing the files for my character and Steam ID

From the game Launcher, select the "Tools" tab, then select "Clean game data".

Check the box that says "Discovered map of remote games" and press "Clean".
