PC Can you swing in the opposite direction with clubs/sledges?

For clubs/sledges, power attacks makes you swing from right to left. Is there an option to swing left to right?

For example, if a moat full of spikes is to my left and a zombie approaches me from the front, I have no problems whacking zombies into them. But if the moat is to my right I can't really do that.

As far as I know swinging direction doesn't mean anything.  There isn't any settings to alter which direction you swing from but even swinging from right to left will still knock the zombies backward.

Oh! I thought swing direction would determine which direction they would stagger. I guess not then. Thanks!
