PC Please REMOVE the Strip Club POI

Well that's not completely true. :)  While most people (male or female) accept as a reality of life that strip clubs exist somewhere-- even within their own city, most would probably not want one to open up in or too near to their own neighborhood. So there is probably at least a little bit bad about them in the minds of most people.
I might just be to european to understand this xD
What is so bad about a stripclub?
I mean... except the noise... but that is the same as a disco or any other party place.

Is it because you connect it to crime?
Is it because you don't want your kids to randomly stumble upon it/walk next to it?  And if they do... what is so bad about it?
They aren't getting in. And if they are interested, you can just tell them that it is a place for grownups and explain once they are older.

Or is it a big city thing where stripclubs are just the beginning of a change in clientel of the block or something?

Please. I honestly don't get it :D

I can't speak for others but it is mostly the clientele that would be hanging around the neighborhood for me. In the USA, especially smaller towns it is common for members of a neighborhood to actively protest certain businesses from going up too close to their residences or their schools. Strip clubs aren't the only types. There are others as well.

Weird. but I guess that is a cultural difference after all. What seems normal to me, is a near taboo for others.
Thx for explaining. I've heard about it, but I always thought those were just the christian fundamentalists that protest basicially everything.
Didn't know it was like a common thing.

actually i dont point at a particular group so to speak. i point at (someone always wants to control what others do) as being the mentality behind all of it.

now while others will say i am wrong, just think about it.. people wouple would play and worry about their own lives, then they wouldnt need to be so concerned with johnny henry is doing. :)

maybe i do look at it wrong but after 63 years of seeing it.. :)

Its definitely not merely a Christian Fundamentalist thing as there are many towns and cities that have statutes written into their local laws that prohibit certain establishments from being built within a certain radius of residential neighborhoods and schools. In those cases it doesn't even require any local activism to prevent it. The businesses can't even get a permit to begin with if they try to build in a particular area. It is just those cases where there is no statute but the local neighborhoods don't want it in their neighborhood and they get together to protest and have it moved.

And it's not just businesses that are deemed sexually inappropriate by the locals but also for other reasons. We had a Walmart that had to change its location because the local small businesses got all the nearby residential zones to protest it. Walmart decided not to fight and just found a new location elsewhere in town. Marijuana dispensaries are also often blocked from being able to be built near neighborhoods that don't want them nearby.

We don't have zoning here so everything is done by our home owners associations, no clue how businesses are blocked or allowed.

I know a sex doll rental shop was somehow blocked from being built in Houston, but I think it was the concept that was blocked not a location issue.

We'll always have your POI, so we're good. Seriously, I laughed till I cried the first time I adventured in your "toy rental shop."

An extinction machine with the primary purpose of extincting itself.  Is extincting a word?

I half agree with the opener,   but I do  wonder how many of the people shouting 'shut up your face'

have teen-aged daughters.   Might just be an age thing, or maybe we are more repressed here in the UK.

I haven't problems with porn/strip clubs/sex shops  in real life,  as long as its between consenting adults,

and as long as it doesn't have huge  neon signs saying SEX SEX SEX   in a non-suitable location.

I don't have a problem with the booby hatch  even,  but I found the stripper z  to be  a bit tasteless and 'skanky'

(okay fair enough that zombies are always going to be a bit skanky)

Nothing to do with religion or morals just a personal preference against skanky strippers.

Alternatively might be that my daughters PC is next to mine and she looks at my screen,

and I look at hers  -  am I only allowed to play when she's in bed  if the game is 'M' rated?

Anyway I  modded the stripper out (swapped for the slightly less tasteless nursies)

Been playing 7days since 2013  -   and the option to easily mod stuff out  - 1 line changes

is one of the reasons I keep playing/

Might as well push for truth in advertising and call it STD Rental.

Why is it that so many people are overly concerned for their daughters but not for their sons?

/boggle at society

Why half agree when you complain about totally different issues? You complain about a half-naked zombie which arguably might give most parents at least an uneasy moment if their kids watch this as well.

He complains about a POI without any sex shown, only some cages where the kids would already need to know everything about those establishments to not conclude that there would be animals in there !! And a suggestive name in a world where "booby" is said by 5 year olds to hopefully get a shocked reaction from their parents.

To answer your question: Some of the people answering in this now overly long thread have said they are parents, and without exception they have been refuting the idea that the booby trap should be removed. I'm relatively sure of this because I can't remember even one comment being supportive of the OPs idea.

I am a parent, but I have two sons (no daughters unfortunately).

However, neither of my sons are allowed to play this game as they are not mature enough for it.  It would be the same if I had a daughter.  However, once they reached the age where I believe they are mature enough to play the game, they would be allowed to do so.

This is a game that was developed for mature players.  If someone wants to make it so their kids can play the game, they are more than able to modify the game to remove any elements that they object to.  None of us have an issue with a person modifying the game for their values or morals, and a lot of members here would be more than willing to assist.  The issue a lot of people had in this thread was the OP wanting TFP to remove elements he found went against his morals.

Yes, if you desire to behave in alignment with your stated convictions. No, if you're willing to live below the standard you claim to believe in. No judegment here. I don't think anyone successfully lives up to all their ideals all the time. But since you asked, waiting to play when children aren't present watching the M-rated content is absolutely what someone would do who both believes that children shouldn't view that material and intends to live by that belief and enforce it in their own home.

Same as not watching an R rated movie on tv while kids are next to you on couch...
