8k Map Not Loading

Just out of curiosity:
You mention that every time you start a new map it fails to download said map, for all 8k maps.

Does that mean you only ever generated 8k maps, or have there been - apart from once - other maps that failed or did not fail to download ( Navezgane, PREGEN0X, 4k, 6k, whatever)?

Not trying to derail, so here is the mandatory disclaimer: and, of course, logs!
Great question!    No, I usually don't have a problem loading a smaller map when not using a mod.

I feel horribly ignored now since I asked for logs and pointed to instructions twice now 😩. Oh well, what do I expect with a profile picture like mine 😉

Passwords are not shown in the log. If they still were, I would mention that as unforgiveable each and every time I'd ask someone for posting a logfile 😉
I am so sorry!  I never meant to ignore you.  :(

Log from my computer:

https://pastebin.com/embed_iframe/LzwKsDXp

Log from the server:

https://pastebin.com/embed_js/kdTMQjbe

I hope I did that correctly.  I removed all the IPs and User IDs that I could find.

Were these logs helpful at all?

Yes, your server log shows the server is running the Undead Legacy mod, while your client machine is not. This won't work.

The mod needs to be on both the client and the server to work. Or removed.
The mod is running on my computer.  I am running 7 Days to Die from the 7D2D Mod Launcher.

Then you uploaded the wrong output log. It is in the folder where the modded game is installed.
I followed the instructions pinned.    I don't where the log is in the mod launcher.   Once I find it, I will upload it.   If someone knows where it is located, that will help.

If you were using Undead Legacy from the mod launcher with Alpha 19.3, you have to delete and reinstall for it to work with A19.4.

Not your game, just the mod in the mod launcher.

I am so sorry.  I am trying to help you to help me.   The log I posted is exactly what is in that output log at that location.    I don't know where to get you anything better or different.

I am in the game and playing 7 Days to Die with the Undead Legacy Mod.   My game is 19.4.   I had to delete the mod and reinstall it.  Once that was done, then my friend downloaded his world folder and posted it for me to download.   Once I put the world folder where it needed to go, I was able to get in the game and play.

It is the issue of not being able to load the map that is the issue.    :(

@TatiaThe Mod Launcher installs a new version of the game into a different folder than the vanilla game. That folder is indicated on the

Mod Launcher screen for the game on the top center of the screen above the line "release notes".

You can open the correct folder by pushing the button to the right with 3 dots on it.

The correct log will be in the 7DaystoDie_Data folder that is in the directory that you just opened.

From your log:

2021-03-11T00:42:10 21.537 INF [MODS] No mods folder found

You can't play a modded game without the mod installed.

So, that log can't be a log from your modded game.

Dunno what's up, but the log you provided doesn't give us any info to go on.

I was just joking.

Were these logs helpful at all?

As beelzybub said, the logfile is wrong. If you still have problems finding the correct directory and logfile with his method, try this:

* Start the game and write down the date and time when you started the game.

* Then login to the server and exit the game again.

* Then use the search function of the windows explorer to search for all files with "output_log_" in the name. One of those should have the date and time you wrote down in the name. This would be the correct logfile.

there was some nonsense here. Just go with what beelzybub said but chose output_log.txt, not one the output_log files with timestamps in their names, if the change date on it better reflects the time of your last unsuccessful login attempt.

Else, meganoth has you covered.

No and yes.    No, the problem is technically not gone.   I had to have a friend send me the map for me to put where it needs to go in order to play.    If I change maps or the server is restarted, I can no longer access the game without someone giving me the map.    So yes, I am playing but not without a 3rd party supplying me the map.

Probably not explicitly stated before: they need a log taken when the problem manifests. Need to see what the log shows when your download gets stuck. Can you temporarily switch to a different map, or just restart the server, to trigger the problem and get a useful log?

That was the first log I sent in, but it was stated that it didn't show a connection to 7 Days.    :(
Well, you might think that. But that first log clearly is from a session where you didn't even try to connect to a server. The log lasts less than 50 seconds from the time of starting the game to stopping it !! Lots of lines are missing there that would show up if you tried to log into a server even if the attempt didn't work.

So, you're in good hands with Beelzybub and meganoth and so if anything I say seems wrong just ignore it and wait for their input. That said, I think the problem with the first log was that it seemed to be from a different instance of your client - one that was not running the Undead Legacy mod. Also it doesn't have any evidence of you trying to connect to a server. That's neither here nor there, really, because the log you just provided about 12 hours ago is from the 'correct' client game, with the UL mod loaded, and it does connect to the server.

The problem is that of course you've already done your manual-download workaround so the log looks fine and nothing useful can be gleaned from it. You probably need to shut down your client, ask the server owner to temporarily change the map or restart, then try to connect. Based on your previous comments, you will download the map only up to 21% and then it will stop. Maybe wait a few minutes after that (sitting at the 21% downloaded screen), then shut your client down and send log file again.

If you want to pre-verify that the log file will be useful, open it up in a text editor and look for two things:

(1) Make sure that there is a line with "[MODS]" in it which shows Undead Legacy being loaded (this confirms that you started the correct Mod Launcher instance)

(2) Look for lines like this (the specific ID's will be different of course):

2021-03-14T14:06:06 66.654 INF StartAsClient
2021-03-14T14:06:06 66.655 INF Sending RequestToEnterGame...
2021-03-14T14:06:06 66.669 INF StartGame done
2021-03-14T14:06:06 66.756 INF [Steamworks.NET] Lobby creation succeeded, LobbyID=109775241056131111, server SteamID=734898273849282, server public IP=7*.18*.*.14*, server port=12345
2021-03-14T14:06:06 66.764 INF [Steamworks.NET] Lobby entered: 109775241056131111

If it has those lines, then what follows is all the work your client does to download config files and the world and whatnot. It's that information that will allow experts like Beelzybub and meganoth to help troubleshoot. (Your recent log file does have those lines, but again, you had already done the workaround so there is no world download happening. Your very first log didn't have these lines at all, so it appears to be just a log of the client starting up and then stopping without ever trying to connect to a server.)
