PC Block loose life : don"t understand

Hi,

I have built a tower with two range of blocks for the wall. But i don't understand why : the blocks on oustide loose life (or durability) without reason : i don't dig (i had dig before build the tower for underground wall) and i have stop to land with my gyrocopter on top on tower (for be sure it's not when gyrocopter land on tower that make that).

So, why my block (concrete mix) loose life ?

Are you saying that the block durability is dropping without being damaged by outside forces? 

Or that they all of the sudden fall and brake?

Is is breaking as soon as you place it?  If that's the case then most likely there is a spot underground that is causing SI (Structural Integrity) issues.  Mark the spot on the map and then go underground (if you don't want to, or can't cheat non-collision mode) and find where the ceiling is above bedrock.  You'll need to make a brace underground directly underneath the break point.

If you are not certain where the break point is make a large table (4 pillars and a ceiling).

My base gets damaged by zombie spit,  They are not very accurate and it can splash over a big area.

Yes, it's not with the splash damage of big zombies : it's just i repaired them and later (on or two days) i see sometimes 4999/5000 or 4587/5000 etc... and i don't know why.

It's not breaking when i place then, it's later. What do you mean with "mark the spot on the map ?

Yes, i thought that but they loose life after repair when blood moon was finish : splash damage cover large area but can they touch blocs behind the door after the first range of wall ?

And when i land with gyrocopter on top of tower (or crash because i train to land), this can make "jerk" who touch blocks below ?

 
The only things that can damage blocks are zeds, animals and you (and your gun traps).

If you have terrain blocks within your walls, you might be experiencing biome spawns within you base. As in, a random zed spawns in, wanders around a bit, hits somethings randomly. And then times out (dies by itself).

A similar thing might be wandering hordes; depending on the shape of your walls, they might get stuck to a spot for long enough to pile up and have one or two get over the wall. Unlikely, as usually they either miss you entirely or drill a straight line through your base, but still possible.

Cop & vulture spit, if your horde base is near, but those should indeed damage several blocks. Also, if your horde base is at a suitable distance (the horde spawn radius is something like 50 blocks), you might get some horde zeds spawning inside your structure. I think that would require terrain blocks there as well.

Also note that bullets damage blocks so if your or any turrets are shooting them it will damage them.

You wrote "blocks on the outside" in your first post. Now behind a door?

Zs can hit you through a closed door if you stand close. So maybe they can also hit blocks behind.

Also it's known that explosion damage is not stopped by blocks, so blocks behind blocks can also get damaged. So probably pipe bombs exploding near the wall on the outside may also damage inside blocks a little, also do exploding Zs (Cops, Demolishers). 

I don't know if vulture spit may also, since it afaik is also "area of effect", it may too.

And as said previously, also your own shots damage blocks. Not just from your personal weapon but also any auto-turret and also junk turrets.

And when i land with gyrocopter on top of tower (or crash because i train to land), this can make "jerk" who touch blocks below ?

No, it only damages the blocks you are touching.

Also structural integrity does not apply damage to any block, even if it is on the limit, nor does damage to a block affect SI (as long as it don't downgrade because of damage).

Structural integrity only tells whether it collapses or not.

Yes, now i see behind door. But i hope it's splash demolisher zombies damage. Strange case, yesterday that was blood moon and wood blocks that make the floor was damaged and two reinforced wood blocks becomes wood blocks only (and yes, they was reinforced wood blocks before).

I don"t use turrets, only blade trap that are on groud, around the tower.

My wife has "Shotgun Tourette's"...  I hear the shotgun go off inside the base then a stream of expletives on Discord.  I'm constantly running around with the base repair task.

 
Do buildings 'decay' in 7dtd?  If so, it could be that.

My horde base (single player) is within my LCB zone, and my stash bunker has a bedroll, so perhaps that is helping keep things at full health for me.  I think both are keeping the Z's from spawning inside as well, so no strays to hit stuff.

Blocks do not decay at all and the only things that will ever hurt a block are your melee attacks, zombie melee attacks, your ranged attacks, zombie vomit, and turret ranged attacks. So the only ways for a block out side melee range to get hurt is if you or a turret or a cop/vulture shoots it with bullets or vomit.

LCB only prevents sleeper spawns. It does afaik not prevent random zombie spawns, wandering horde spawns and also not bloodmoon spawns.

The bedroll afaik also prevents random spawns (no idea about wandering horde and bloodmoon), but has a far smaller zone size.

Living in a prison POI during bloodmoon i regularily have some Zs spawning in the inner courtyard. However i've never seen random or wandering horde spawns inside, but i guess it's just random that i never have seen it happen.

 
Spitter attacks do cover a wide area and do minimal block damage.

Demolishers actually can damage multiple blocks in double walls.

But to do just 1 pt of damage inside/outside blocks sounds like someone is firing small arms or punching attacks.

Do you have zed block damage set at 100%?
