PC The eating requirement is breaking emersion

1) I would do a fresh install because that drain really sounds like a bug. Are you playing on an old save?

2) Meat stew is 50 food. Hobo stew is more than double as good at 64 food. Shepard's Pie is 104 and Spagetti is 122. That's more than 4x better than veggie stew. Limiting yourself to basic foods is a mistake.

3) It's your choice to go after such an elaborate Blood Moon setup. You can defend yourself in MUCH simpler ways at the gamestages you would be encountering on day 30. Just find a multi-story building and hack out the stairs. You can work on the big pit in your spare time until it's done, but getting food needs to be higher on your list of priorities.

4) Food in loot is subject to RNG, but food in vending machines less so. There's always something to eat if you take note of all the working machines you find and go around to them with Dukes to stock up.
Thanks for the advice, also the version im using is the most recent patch, i always start a new world with each update, play for awhile get bored play other games till the game updates im simple. Hobo stew seems rather near impossible to become selfsustainable whether its better or not because the ingrediants are a bit of a challenge to get a hold off. As is gumbo and the others you mentioned where meat stew and vegie stew require things that i can grow in surplus, i just recently upgraded my farm thanks to a few undead dogs and an undead vulture, so now im growing 4 corn 4 potato and 4 mushroom  with max level lotl thats 12 vegies per harvest which means when i can make more farm plots i can make a larger farm though the hunger thing still annoys me to no end when i am busy doing something. Add me on steam i have no buddies to play with im s loner haha

Snip3s is my steam name look for the nuke picture.

Where in that did you read I have food struggles? lol I said the constant needing to eat is tedious.
You still didn't answer my question...how often are you eating that it gets to be annoying for you?

I'm confused because your suggestion talks about eating 1-2 times/day and that's where I'm at now...

Trust me...you can make all food self-sustainable if you're proactive about food management. You've got far more point investment than I ever do for food, but I'm able to generate it in larger amounts. You just have to have the right mindset/prioritization.

I would take you up on your offer to play, but I'm strictly a solo play dead is dead guy.

Im a little confused at the last part of your reply "i would take you up on your offer to play but im strictly solo play dead, is dead guy"

Is dead guy your steam name or are you saying that multiplayer is dead, and dead is dead or are you saying solo is dead?

When I have to eat 4-5 times in a game day, and I have to click the button as many times as I need to fill up my food bar, it gets tedious (for me).

Can I give you an exact number? nope.

Because depending on the food items I am scarfing down varies in the amount it fills the food bar varies a couple/few clicks.

Don't know what you are trying to get out of it.

Sorry, you still didn't answer my question either. Where did you find me saying I was having a struggle with finding food?

Only conclusion I can come to is: You didn't really read what I said but want to prove whatever it is you are trying to prove.

I stated my feeling on the topic.

Eating food all throughout a game day is getting tedious. <shrug>

Just butting in with an "I kinda agree, but".. There's no real drawback for having nearly no food in your system.. Sure, max stamina takes a hit, but the whole stamina game is about the regen anyway, which only suffers from thirst. With that in mind, I only really eat "stacks" of food when I'm low enough.. drop a stack of grilled meats in the toolbar and eat them while running around doing something else; sorting loot, running for the mine, whatever.. takes most of the annoyance out for me.

To answer your question about several times a day, every 4 to 5 minutes apart, and using iron tools to do what im trying to do with my base is irritating because it takes longer then that and when my stamina is reduced it becomes imcredibly tedious

I'm saying I only play solo and in "dead is dead" style...meaning if I die, I delete the world and start over.

First of all, there's no need to get defensive. I'm honestly just trying to understand where you are coming from. I don't need an exact number, just a general idea of what you consider tedious. At 4-5 times per day, I agree with you that is tedious...

What I'm saying and you may find surprising is that in the current build of the game, near vanilla settings, I only eat 1-2 times per day with no metabolism perks...an amount I think you would find far less tedious judging by your simplification suggestion. That means your goal is attainable with zero change to the game, though it might require a change to your playstyle.

I never meant to imply that you are struggling if you think you do not think you are. If you're happy eating 4-5 times a day I would say good for you, but I know you're not happy with it and I wouldn't be either. If you upgrade the food you're eating you can definitely improve on that. All fun, zero tedium...you just have to eat the right food.

I don't want to tell you how to play, but I can say that trying to accomplish what you are trying to accomplish in the way you are going about it makes things very difficult. If you're willing to adapt your playstyle and adjust your goals and timetable, I think you might be more successful and have more fun.

Don't read any angst into what I am writing. Just found your questioning weird, and was poking back in hopes you would clarify it. Just my writing (or lack there of) that come across as being more confrontational that it should be. Its really not a huge issue, as I tried to get across towards the end of the post when saying I would play the game either way. Just am finding it becoming more tedious then it needs to be. Gave a mini sug as something to think about. Probably something I'll just do myself down the road.

Maybe you already know this, but mushrooms do not need to be placed in a farm plot. I personally grow them on the ceiling of my base. You can plant them anywhere.

Which, if you are putting them in farm plots, would free up 4 plots for more veggies and a nice increase to your harvest.
