I remember complaining about the absurdity of finding pistols and knives in toilets.I said that nobody complains about finding awesome weapons in containers that don’t make sense like they have about stone tools.

When did I say I thought otherwise? I just think your double standard is funny is all. Improbable containers holding junk is unforgivable but impossible containers holding an auto shotgun is AWESOME!!!If you think otherwise like @Roland does
“But hell, it’s a beaker so I’m willing to look the other way”...lmaoBeaker. (for measuring stuff to make gunpowder or gunpowder itself, bit stretchy)
I know very well what Roland has been fed up with@Roland refers to realism and that you can loot weapons from containers that are too small to contain such a weapon. For example a M60 in a wall safe.
If someone don't accept that he can find stone weapons/tools in sealed crates, he shouldn't accept that he can find a big weapon in a small wall safe or a small weapons bag.
Personally, where I draw the line, is when you start finding jeeps in the toilet.I remember complaining about the absurdity of finding pistols and knives in toilets.
He isn’t saying don’t discuss it. He isn’t saying wait until it’s done to start talking about it. He is saying that it is obvious that some people didn’t realize it’s transitional rather than final because the conversation is different and the type of feedback you give is different when you understand that you are commenting about a milestone instead of the destination. We aren't, but then again we can only comment on what we have in front of us can't we ? I mean, if you go down that route nothing ever gets discussed before gold, because god forbid no feature is in it's final version yet.
Heh...amused by is more in line with what I feel about the immersion aspect of this. If I’m fed up about anything it is not being able to interact with anything after pressing F7. THATS a travesty.I know very well what Roland has been fed up with

The true immersion warrior prefers not to interact with anything, if that means avoiding distraction by some silly numbers that inexplicably float in their field of vision.Heh...amused by is more in line with what I feel about the immersion aspect of this. As for jeeps in toilets and a gyrocopter in my pocket, I believe I saw some Pym Particles at Red Mesa so...totally believable.
0.01? Lets face it, if half the users in this forum (assuming the polls are anything to go by) look at it as an improvement to A18 and you find it intolerable the problem may be on your side as well. Play A18 and if you are bored of that as well then you know you have to find some other game until a new alpha refreshes 7D2D for a short time again. We aren't, but then again we can only comment on what we have in front of us can't we ? I mean, if you go down that route nothing ever gets discussed before gold, because god forbid no feature is in it's final version yet.
You stated something very interesting though. "It is what could be fit into A19". We have had the loot system of A18- for... 18 alphas. Why the rush to squeeze in such a 0.0.1-SNAPSHOT feature if you knew you didn't have the time to prepare the rest for A19 anyways ?
"Massive improvement" is one hell of a stretch imo. Somehow we've played a 60 hour gameplay in A18 with me as the Int guy (so a LOT of content was unlocked with perk points), and after 20 hours we still had a @%$*#!ton of stuff to find. That is bound not to happen in A19 even though none of my group chose to play Int. Weirdly enough we have so much left to find, but it feels like such a grind it's just painful.
I am itching to pull the "wish that was the case with A16" card with this, but I won'tI suspect the more 7D2D gets to the end of development and beta the more people will get fed up with the game because the core will change less and less and only a few more POIs, a new end boss and one or two new features on top will not keep people happy for long.
Good, so I won't answer with "A16 was only my second alpha so it is difficult for me to compare. But my group of players didn't take very long to replace vanilla with full conversion mods, to get some fresh gameplay".I am itching to pull the "wish that was the case with A16" card with this, but I won't![]()
Lol. Not sure if you're trolling, but if you aren't, brushing all the complaints off as "whining" is as useless a post as it gets.
Roland and Gazz are the true show runners while Madmole is just a puppet played by a sometimes trader and voice actor called Rekt.Lol. Not sure if you're trolling, but if you aren't, brushing all the complaints off as "whining" is as useless a post as it gets.
Btw, I'm trying to figure out what exactly you mean when you say that this is Roland and Gazz's game.
that photo is giving me so many 7d2d urges its hilarious...THIS IS THE WORST F***ING HOUSE WHY DID I PAY YOU GUYS TO BUILD THIS CRAP FOR ME???

Now...now...Xtra....There's no need to spoil harmless illusions.Btw, I'm trying to figure out what exactly you mean when you say that this is Roland and Gazz's game.
I see you have pretty much ignored most of my comment, heres a reminder:When did I say I thought otherwise? I just think your double standard is funny is all. Improbable containers holding junk is unforgivable but impossible containers holding an auto shotgun is AWESOME!!!
Bill: Hey Frank, guess what I found in this little hand purse?
Frank: Some paper or money?
Bill: A hunting rifle!!!!!
Frank: Sweet, that’s so awesome!!!! Ooh a crate, let me open that.
Bill: what did you get?
Frank: A top quality stone axe. I’m livid!!!
Bill: You already have one?
Frank: It just makes no sense!!!!!
As i said now multiple times you guys simply dont understand suspension of disbelief. Its really simple, not a big deal. All you have to do is to actually try to rebuild the world of this game in your mind and ask yourself what fits into this game. You have all information, its a game, the setting of the area, what happened, how certain stuff operates and soo on. Like in the question i used as my point but if anybody still doesnt understand it, go into any gamer forum and ask people the following:Suspension of disbelief now suprasses how the following are unrealistic and put them into parts of the immersion:
- General gameplay mechanics (we somehow know how to flint stones to make an axe, have a purse filled with 3 tons of iron and accept the healthbar)
Because they desire an AK47. They can talk about immersion all day but what it really comes down to is they don’t want to be disappointed when they open that box.
If primitive gear could one shot zombies and decimate trees and boulders you wouldn’t hear a peep about how it makes no sense for primitive weapons being in safes.
Unlike the stone age, that looks like a strong foundation.THIS IS THE WORST F***ING HOUSE WHY DID I PAY YOU GUYS TO BUILD THIS CRAP FOR ME???

Don't worry. I understand suspension of disbelief. I also understand selective application...As i said now multiple times you guys simply dont understand suspension of disbelief. You have just landed into the world of games, everything what you ever played is here for a grand adventure and right infront of you theres a box the size of a mug lays on a pedestal with the text "The Loot" is on. What is in the box?
Not many people will go and suggest items with the actual size of a mag because the setting of this question is the world of games and we already accepted the impossible size relations of games.
No, I expicitly and quite purposely said people don't want to be disappointed when they open a box. I was careful to leave it at that and make no comment that it had to do with machine guns on day 1. The whole of my point was simply that for whatever reason (and that reason could be different for each person) people are feeling disappointed when they open up boxes in the game now but stating it in terms of "it doesn't make sense for this or that" when there are lots of times the exciting things we pull out of boxes also don't make sense but nobody says anything because they like what they got. My further statement was to demonstrate that if primitive gear was something people were not disappointed to get then nobody would be complaining about getting it even if it came in a factory sealed crate straight from pre-apocalyptic Shotgun Messiah. At most people would comment about how funny it was.As for when you said it, with this comment below you implied that the only reason people would dislike the current looting system is because all they are guns or weapons what are overpowered.
But you didn't and neither did anyone else or even mention such things except in passing whimsy. Its hilarious to pull an M60 out of a purse and to put my bike in a birds nest for safe keeping....silly funny devs heheh. Its OUTRAGEOUS and IMMERSIONALLY DEVASTATING to pull a stone axe out of a sealed crate...stupid lazy devs!Oh and honestly, if it were on me i would have already changed things up and add somekind of size indication to items so the only impossible storage is the pocket of the player.
If I could give you an internet trophy or other forms of fake internet points, I would. *Clap clap*Don't worry. I understand suspension of disbelief. I also understand selective application...

And now we are back to selective application again.

<shrug>
See, I like the current progression okay and don't feel disappointed by what I'm finding in boxes. Hence, my suspension of disbelief is preserved about this situation every bit as much as it is about everything else that is accepted. My mind has already made the shift that primitive gear in shipping boxes is the way this universe works. Now excuse me while I search for my bike. I know it is in one of these nests nearby...
I soo far have now mentioned that in atleast 3 different posts but it seems like its only you who care about this thing. But you didn't and neither did anyone else or even mention such things except in passing whimsy.
