I think they're saying (in a very bad way) that something changed in A19 as far as plant colliders are concerned. I can be standing on an aloe plant, looking at a blueberry bush, the text on the screen SAYS blueberry plant, I punch and I get the aloe plant or the seed. Picking cotton or chrysanthemum in the wild is irritating as well, and a significant percentage of the time, I hit the ground or nearby grass instead of the plant I want to get.

If I had to guess, I'd say that it's something to do with the glancing blow change for fists/knuckles. I haven't tried it with a knife recently but I can give that a whirl next time I have a harvest. Regardless of that though, hops and coffee have ALWAYS been a pain in the @%$*#! when it comes to accidentally picking up the seeds instead of harvesting the next plant in line - partly because the collider seems much larger, but even when you've got the text for the next plant, if you're not standing on top of that plant, you'll have issues.
Has to be a MP thing, it works flawless for me. I've got 3 or 4 level 50  plus a19 characters who all had farms, never any problem harvesting. I do square up on the plant though, or for corn I aim up at the stalk / sky behind it. I've used knives, fists, stone axes.

@madmole

I play SP only.

You are doing it wrong. Maybe because I grew up farming, you don't walk on the damn crops.

Try standing on the side and punch it.

Nope, happened to me an hour ago in my SP save, which is pregen01. Behavior is definitely different from A18 at a minimum. PoloPoPo's video above is exactly what I'm seeing too.

Does not matter, as you can see the text ID is no guarantee for getting the correct plant. When harvesting chrysanthemum or other flowers in the open fields it is exactly the same and I certainly can't be positioned wrong there.

Plus if you have more than two rows behind each other you have to stand on the crops.

I had no problems getting the correct plants in A18 even when just walking by.

It could be buggy. All I am saying is if you do it how I do it, you won't have any problems until we can get a better fix in. Stand on the ground, and punch from the side, there is no possible overlap of colliders that way. There is one possible plant in your view cone, not 3.

I thought we were in the land of gameplay trumping realism?

We aren't standing on the crops, we're standing between them. Or whatever you need to decide on for reality purposes to float your boat.

Fact remains, players are going to walk on top of their farm plots in order to harvest, and regardless of that behavior for harvesting has changed since A18. Admittedly, it used to be the bushes that were annoying about it (blueberries, coffee especially) and rarely an issue with potatoes, pumpkins, or corn (unless you aimed above the base of the stalk); now the only one you can do without a problem is corn - by aiming high. (And thanks for fixing that by the way, was annoying.)

As long as you take into consideration to accept that there might have been a recent change to the worse and look into it I am happy :D

Like I have said earlier, if I stand exactly on top of the plant and look down on it I always get the correct result.

If you think about line of fire, this is very common sense. Do you shoot a gun over your kids head at target practice? No you tell him to get behind you and stay back there. You guys crops and plots are in the line of fire. Same way with people cutting meat and vegetables wrong, it drives me nuts. Move your fingers out of the line of fire, 0% chance to cut yourself. Same way here, aim sideways so nothing else is in the line of fire and it works perfectly. Or keep walking on your plants and complaining, have fun replanting crops and repairing your farm plots until we can fix it.

EDIT: There is already a ticket for this.

Wow... So because it works at your game and the way you play it... it can't be a problem/bug needing to be fixed?... sjeesh...

Even if there are issues, it's not the end of the world. All it costs people is a few extra seconds, nothing more. Now the precision with tools have certainly changed (perhaps it's to do with glancing blows, I'm not sure); to hit items on the top of shelving, for instance, we have to aim higher than we used to, and this is especially true if there is an object (that is shorter) in front of a destructible behind it (ex. hitting a backpack in front of a suitcase when you were clearly aiming for the suitcase), but again, it is what it is, no big issue.

Madmole, you have nerfed T5 quest rewards very much! It is not worth anymore! Serious dude, why a T5 quest reward give 5 damn first aid bandage? Or 3 Painkillers?

There we go to Dishong tower, kill lots of zombies, survive some traps, play during 1-2 hours, waste aroung 200-500 bullets, some medical stuff, maybe some drugs and then, at trader: 3 Painkillers as a reward, or maybe 5 First Aid, how about ANOTHER Nailgun? Or maybe some Armor Triple Pocket Mod?

I have played aroung 30 missions T5 and most of it gave me @%$*#!y reward. I have a storage box full of exploding arrows and bolts... And on top of that, why just 40? Why not 75 exploding arrows and bolds? Me and all my friends from the server I play and some others from others servers agree with me. You have nerfed heavy the T5 rewards.

I suggest you:
- No Painkillers
- No First Aid Bandages
- Only T3 gear quality 4-6, Fetch = Quality 4 - 60% chance, Quality 5 - 30% chance and Quality 6 - 10% chance. Clear = Quality 4 - 50% chance, Quality 5 - 35% chance and Quality 6 - 15% chance. Fetch and Clear = Quality 4 - 40% chance, Quality 5 - 30% chance and Quality 6 - 20% chance.
- No Books and Recipes
- Only T3 mods
- 5 First Aid Kit
- 3 Drugs
- 150 7.62 special ammo, or Shotgun special ammo.
- 10 Frag Rockets or 10 HE Rockets
- 75 exploding arrows/bolts
- No Nailgun

And on top of that I suggest a pattern to the options: 2 ammo options (different weapons), 1 drug/meds options, 1 gear option and 1 random option (wich one can be any other or one more from another).

No, I was simply stating a valid work around if you read and pay attention, you might learn something useful instead of jumping on the judgement crit train.

But it doesn't. I also have issues with harvesting the crops, i've tried the "come from the side" method, if you have 2 lines next to each other you very often hit the one behind the one you're aiming at. Even if there isn't anything else in your LOS, you sometimes hit the dirt and damage your farm plot for 4HP. It isn't the end of the world of course, but there are issues, whether we use the most optimal method or not.

There are other bugs with hitboxes, whether they have anything to do with the crops or not. Try stopping your minibike a bit too close of a birdnest, and destroying the bird nest. It isn't rare you hit your bike even though it's not even remotely where you aim at. Same happens when digging / mining, sometimes you hit a block next to the one you aim at, or without even moving you suddenly don't hit the block you were hitting anymore, or actually switch to hitting another block without moving your mouse at all, etc.

Yeah some of that stuff is garbage, like meds.

Yeah I put my rows 1 meter apart so I don't hit the one behind it. Yeah I've seen the mining bug it sucks. Like I've been saying A20 will probably just be QOL, new HD skins and maybe some pipe guns, we have a lot of bugs and optimizing to focus on for a while.

Damn straight...the way some people complain you would think we were at Burger King and not playing a survival game...

"Have it your way" ... 😅😅😅

You forgot all the new POIs and mix in RWG worlds.  Towns/cities feel more real probably because of less dupes and better tagging/grouping.
sorry haven't really been on the forums just re-reading everything thats been posted and yes i'm very glad that we can see all of the new pois and have more variety rather than 3 duplicates of let's say the dump and lung mining place

This is approved by the realism police. 🤪
wait. i though a Auger is suppose to be for dirt in real life?

And sense we are talking about "realism" arrows should be used for both Crossbows and Bows! now you may say. "Adam! crossbows in real life uses bolts" and i would agree but then again!

the TAR/M4A1 takes 7.62 in game while IRL it uses 5.56

and plus it would add some more space for Items to come in game, and will not complex anything!
