PC Loot on a19

Which is fine if you enjoy that style of game play.  What I liked about earlier alphas is it felt like an open world game that allowed me to play the way I wanted to play.  Now it feels so much more common and driven by the devs instead of an open world zombie survival game that left you in charge of how you wanted to play the game.
I can’t say enjoying. I think better word would be adaptation. Yeah I agree with you that it’s a different playstyle. Best solution would be an option before you start – Random loot like a18 or progression loot like A19.

The problem is, buying a gun from a trader feels so... unorganic. So you made some ezpz quests, have way too many dukes way too fast, and suddenly you have a gun that enables you to rush through the content for dozens of hours before it becomes any harder.

Honestly with the new emphasis on slow progression, I feel like the old gun parts system would be more than welcome. Steadily find parts to assemble your gun piece by piece, until "tada", you got the last one and can finally make use of it. Traders could sell parts only instead of selling complete guns, and suddenly the whole experience of advancing to the gun stage becomes smooth, instead of a sudden drop.

That would be really nice to have!

Not a fan of the loot either from what I have seen and read. One of the best things for me was running into a poi at the start where you had no business being and getting that lucky box giving you SOMETHING even if it was a good wrench or so. Risky but fun. Now I don't see a reason to go loot much until I reach a certain game stage. I must also add I haven't really played A19 yet so I could be wrong. That said I doubt it, first thing I would do is go hunt zombies until I get to a point where looting feels rewarding. A whole inventory full of blunderbusses doesn't do it for me.

Don't worry. You'll find stone spears, stone axes, wooden clubs and stone hammers as well. ;)

By the way, the blunderbuss is not a bad weapon. Some use it even later in the game to save ammo for the horde.

In general, I don't think the loot in A19 is so bad. However, in the late game you notice that the Fun Pimps are more focused on the shooter aspect of the game. You hardly find good tools but way too many guns.

But what is frustrating for me is that T5 clear quests don't give good rewards anymore. In A18 the reward was always at least one Q6 item. Not anymore.

I could build a whole fortress only using blunderbusses. While i really like the slower progression, it is really stale right now. The first week used to be the most exciting one. Now it´s boring after you did it 2 times. You exactly know what you will find in loot and what you will get as a reward from the trader.

Also people locking away stone tools/weapons in a gun safe is really weird.

I have already stopped playing this alpha, its going to be like a17 was. I may go back to A16 modded until A20 comes out.

You gotta love spending a few in-game days getting together perks, materials and a workbench to finally craft your first piece of yellow quality iron armor, only to start finding purple scrap armor with better stats everywhere because you happened to reach a certain GS threshold.

Looking forward to the next five iterations of this wonderful system.

There should be less purple crap and more low-quality guns/parts etc. at the gamestage where your inventory is getting flooded with blue and purple scrap armors, cloth armors, primitive tools etc. It's a bizarre loot table. I wound up buying my first gun (Q3 shotty) simply because I had not FOUND a gun anywhere, just parts. Also, the blunderbuss is... ok. I won't say decent, it's useless against 2-3 sprinters but it does have a role. At least the ammo is dirt cheap.

After the latest update I started a new game. GS 127 and I am still using a lv3 Handgun. (fine I sold a lv4 handgun before but it has worst stats)

Full luckylooter + candy + lucky goggles whenever I am looting the important boxes.
The spear, the DE, 2 combat sg, chainsaw I get from quest reward. The rest I get from loot.

P.S. That lv 4 assault rifle has an insane base ranged attack of 88 which is why I keep it in my stash.

In my last game I would have almost every lv 6 items in the game already.

A16 weapon part and quality system would be way more nicer, back in the days finding full gun early game wasnt that easy, mostly there was only gun parts from which u can assamble gun if u had found correct shematic ..except pistols who where quite common find in toilets :D also u wastn able to repair stuff if u didnt have correct shematic, and quality lowered with each repair .. ammo in loot was way less making guns kind of exclusive in early game, and mostly using melee or bow ..

Usually i was trying to get as many dukes as fast as possible and priority was to find a good quality spiked club or matchete to buy from trader :)

Was rly fun gameply mehanic
