iirc Cap00 said that the Junk Sledge just requires Int 3 to be able to unlock it

Just checked and it was lowered to 3, solid change! Can't craft it though because it's hella expensive and requires 4 Junk parts, 40 Forged Iron, 10 springs, and 10 duct tape

It's nifty to see the changes they have made in just the last few days, the cost is already a bit cheaper than it was when Cuda crafted it on Stream since his cost 6 Junk parts (and he had to spend 10 minutes finding the last part he needed which is why I remember it being 6 specifically) but the cost is still solidly mid game.

It being gated behind junk parts basically guarantees that because unless it's been changed, the Junk Sledge and parts don't even spawn until after the primitive age is over so you'd be hard pressed to get a working Junk Sledge before an Iron Sledge even with crafting.

Still, progress!

There's more, did you also delete the data outside the games directory? You can do that with the game launcher and klicking on the tools tab
I went in through the program files, steam, steamapps, common 7D2D and deleted everything that was left after the uninstall, is that what you mean?

No. If you start the game in steam it will give you the options: "Play 7 Days to die" and "Show game launcher". Select the game launcher option.

In the game launcher select the tab "Tools", and there the last option (probably something like "Clean game settings").

Delete everything. If you are successfull you will notice later that you have to select or create a new avatar when you want to create a new game

Since it crashed while loading profiles, that sound very reasonable, as soon as the game is done re-validating I'll do that.

Thanks in advance!

When will the updates stop corrupting old save worlds? I thought Alpha 18 was going to be the end of that?
When we go gold. Major updates require a new game, smaller patches probably not.  At least the small patches haven't required restarts like before.

And now it crashes while loading block textures.

Bottled water is probably one I can easily name off of the top of my head.

I understand that in real life you couldn't easily stack more than 10 bottles of water in a single pile, but with so many uses it's common to have at least 100 bottles of water at any given time, and that's half of a container right there (100 bottles of water being 10 stacks of water)

Whatever the argument, I personally just see it as a HUGE quality of life change to change it to 50, or 100. Again, so that I don't get jumped on; I understand it isn't realistic but hey.
Water is a prep/survival item it cannot stack. You need to properly prepare for x days adventuring and take appropriate amount of slots up in your inventory to "manage" your trip. We can't just let you take a stack of 100 water and forget about hydration for 2 game years. Its a choice of do I bring lots of food and water and carry less, or guess the minimum I need and if I'm back on time I'll be fine, but if I screw up, I will suffer and need to find supplies or risk dehydration/starving.

If you really want to worry about water space, you can drink murky water which stacks a lot because its considered a resource and not a food item. Get the water purifier in your helmet and you can drink that crap with no risk.

So I un-installed 7 days, re-installed and started to play 19 and the game crashes while trying to load profiles.
Delete your profiles too then.

Right click on the game.

Choose select properties.

Click the Local Files Tab.

Choose "Browse local files"

find then dbl click on the 7dLauncher.exe

Then click the [Tools] tab.

Then click on the [clean data tab]

click all boxes (also click on the ALL maps button).

Then click on the Clean button.

*Also* "If" you have a "mods folder" remove it.*

Edit: It might also be a good idea to go ahead and clean up any past save's (make a back up copy of them jic you need to revert back to the a18 build).

If that still doesn't work? reboot your computer and do it all over.

If it still doesn't work? then fill out a bug report.

Mods folder is gone has been before I reported here.

I actually used the 7d launcher from steam and cleaned all data.

Going to try to re-install on a different drive.

Don't know if this will help, but.

Not a support guru. Only thing I see is that it can't find your config file.

I know sometimes in the past when the game crashed on me, I needed to reboot my computer. Might be worth a shot for a last ditch effort.

Other than that.. write up a bug report, and see if the real wizards can figure it out.

Edit: Just going on past experiences, that worked for me when a similar crash happened in the past.

ko, once it's done re-installing, I'll reboot and see if that helps

Thanks!

Loving everything about a19 so far. It is vibrant and beautiful and runs smooth as butter.

The only issue I have come across ( which I was fine with but seems to be contrary to the progression philosophy) is treasure maps.

I found one on day one and between the dukes in the chest and the diamonds, gold and silver to sell, I got over 20k dukes. Since the trader inventory also hasn't been adjusted, I have a blue quality pistol, and a yellow double barrel shotgun and baseball bat.

If I was bothered by that, I just wouldn't have bought them... but I wanted them so i did lol.

But to keep stone age valid, the treasure map loot may need a look.

Fabulous job all around though. You guys do great work.

Personally I'm okay with higher quality stuff for sale at the trader as long as its priced in a way it cant be easily purchased.

For example, do I buy a blue pistol for 6k or do I save that 6k towards a vehicle down the road?  I think the decision should be tough and with trade offs.

Regarding Tmaps, I guess it depends if you were just RNG lucky or If they are dropping like candy. (Pardon the pun lol).  Getting a tmap should remain an exciting moment but the reward should match the effort.

anyone having trouble with quest to find trader? two out of two times both on pregen maps i follow the sprite and no trader...

trying my own random gen now
Most likely you are running a pregen from A18 or something, if the biomes look spotchy and overlap you know you are on A18. Make sure to give your new rwg a new unique name or it will just be A18.

The treasure map chest was locked and had 7k hitpoints. it took awhile with my q2 stone axe for sure. And I am perfectly happy with both the loot i received and the things I bought with it.

But >20k dukes for a day 1 treasure map seems to be not in-line with what tfp wants.

I am quite happy if it doesn't change, but thought i should mention it in case it was forgotten or not gotten around to on the loot rebalance.

Did i got this wrong? I cant see hunger and thrist bars unless i go to my character...

"Integrated Survival System

  • Hunger and thirst bars returned to main play screen"
