Jesus christ whenever I see this kind of argument it really makes my skin crawl. We are talking about certain topic and you immediately make an offhanded assumption about other? How do you know I dont mind other things?
Ok, then what about Candies that give you superhuman abilities? What about independent flying drones which we'll be able to build from scrap metal?

I didn't see you arguing on those...

Everyone has something in the game he/she doesn't like much, but your opposition to this specific issue has been relentless, that's why I asked what I asked.

You even just now acknowledged that what they're going to introduce is based on "convincing arguments", but still, you keep defending your critique on the matter.

Not only that, but you dont even provide an example of much less plausible thing. Feels to me you are just blindly defending anything fun pimps do without critical thinking.
I can give you tons of examples of "much less plausible things", like carrying TONS of heavy materials in your backpack, carrying A CAR!! in your backpack, building and repairing walls with just a click, trees growing in a couple days, being able to craft Factory-Quality stuff with a ragtag workstation and last but not least... ZOMBIES! 😁

I'd also like to point out that you didn't reply to my question but diverted the conversation into belittling my questions, reasoning and trustworthiness.

And by the way, I'm defending no one, I even posted that we should reserve our judgement after we actually get a feel of the changes in A19 Exp, so...

If you want to call this "fanboysm" you can, but where I live this is called respect for other people's work.

On the other side I see people throwing stupid this and stupid that to the devs or writing passive-aggressive statements by basically saying they don't know how to do their job... ALL based on speculations on the new changes.

Since you seem to get your feathers ruffled very easily, judging by your reaction to my comment, I'll just "archive" this as "banter for banter's sake". 🙄

Peace.

I did the math once and you could carry 2x the mass of the Titanic in your inventory using concrete blocks.

What that means? Nothing, really.

That's only a stereotype. Trust me, Canadians can be just as salty as every other person on the planet. ;)  How do I know? I live among them.

Also, allow me to flip through my history records of the accomplishments of Canadians during times of war... Alright, let me see... Alright... Okay then... Mmm-hmm... Nope, sorry, I can't find anything. Even today, any other super power (Russia, U.S.A., even England) would crush us without a sweat.

Also, Canada barely participated in WW2, at least to my knowledge.
Canada provided a lot of men and material to the war effort.  As part of the Commonwealth you don't have to worry about being invaded by England, we're on the same side... you are literally a part of an international superpower and don't shout about it.

"On 6 June 1944, the 3rd Canadian Division landed on Juno Beach in the Normandy landings and sustained heavy casualties in their first hour of attack. By the end of D-Day, the Canadians had penetrated deeper into France than either the British or the American troops at their landing sites"

Ships confirmed for A19, yay!!

wait a second...

...

dam-mit!

they're all gonna sink on their first voyage 😒 not cool Gazz, not cool...

Actually I did

Yeah so relentles that I actually came to changed my mind in my last post

You even just now acknowledged that what they're going to introduce is based on "convincing arguments", but still, you keep defending your critique on the matter.
Yes, because my critique is still valid. To many people, myself included, this feels unintuitive. So if an absolutely new player is going to notice it, he will be scratching his head.

Fair enough. But most of these things are already well estabilished in other games, so a new player is not going to be suprised. This is not a question of realism, but player experience.

I'd also like to point out that you didn't reply to my question but diverted the conversation into belittling my questions, reasoning and trustworthiness.
Very well, it gets on my nerve, because its quite alien concept in games in general.

If you want to call this "fanboysm" you can, but where I live this is called respect for other people's work.
Respect in your book means you should not criticise others work?

Yeah get on your high horse and good riddence.

I'm thankful for the inventory management system!  I HATE the games that have the different sized blocks which you then put one of each item in the various blocks, and the various items you have take up one or more of the blocks.  It is what keeps this game my favorite, by light years, survival game.  Sure, you can carry way more than you should be able to, but game play is so much more important to me than realism in the carrying of the various things you need to carry.

As wiki mentioned Canada lost around 43 000 people during WW2. Where as:

Soviet Union: between 20 000 000 and 27 000 000

Poland: around 6 000 000

Yugoslavia: 1 027 000 to 1 700 000

UK: 450 900

USA: 419 400

I'm not an expert, but seems the attendance of Canada in WW2 was either minimal or mostly economical (example: Land-lease, as far as I know here SU was mostly leased by USA each third or second litter of gasoline in USSR tank was given by USA, lots of machinery for mass weapons production like the one for building tank head roller system was from USA, incredible amount of aluminium/copper/gun powder etc was sent in by USA, and the tanks/cars/trucks in quite impressive amount). And our ancestors managed to die the most in this was... My grandpa told me some "tales" of those times as he managed to participate and it was really disappointing in most part as they where sent to destroy tanks with one rifle per 10 men, the rest were carrying shovels. Later on after the land-lease program was on the way they could fight off more effective, but until some help arrived from the other side of the ocean they were simply meatloafs sent to die...

Taken as death per capita the Americans lost 0.32% of the population, Canada lost 0.38%.  It's easy to lose more men when you have more men to lose.

You're stats show that Canadians were really good at not getting shot.

Links or it didn't happen. 😀

Changing your mind has nothing to do with spamming the forums with unfounded critique. Next time use the dictionary if you need.

I see, so now you've become an expert on other people's reactions (new players).

Who's on a "high horse" now.

I'd also like to point out that you didn't reply to my question but diverted the conversation into belittling my questions, reasoning and trustworthiness.

Thanks for, eat least, acknowledging this.

If you want to call this "fanboysm" you can, but where I live this is called respect for other people's work.
Respect in your book means you should not criticise others work?
You can give feedback and criticize all you want, you can also tell them they're stupid and they don't know how to do their job (like some did).

- OR -

You could just point out what you're unhappy with and discuss it like, you know, a gentleman.

Since you seem to get your feathers ruffled very easily, judging by your reaction to my comment, I'll just "archive" this as "banter for banter's sake". 🙄

Yeah get on your high horse and good riddence.
Nice try... the one who's been on a high horse during all the discussion it's you, since you've been trying to belittle me from the beginning.

Food consumption makes sense in the game like IRL, whether it's by walking, running or driving.

The rest is all about balancing things up. Since I trust it's in TFP's best interest to develop a fun and balanced game, I'm betting if this plays out unbalanced, they'll give it a second and third pass until everything works nice and smooth. "In The Pimps We Trust!" 😎

Taken as death per capita the Americans lost 0.32% of the population, Canada lost 0.38%.  It's easy to lose more men when you have more men to lose.
First of all this is completely OT... but I wanted to chime in to say something.

I understand where this discussion all came from, but please guys show some respect for all those people's lives lost during WW2.

If you'd lost your father or grandfather in that war it wouldn't matter much it was just in the 0.3 percentile or less, wouldn't it?

Just to be clear, I'm talking to everyone here, I just quoted Gronk because his post was shorter...

I'm English, three generations of men in my family have fought the Germans first-hand... for my father that meant voting for Brexit but he did at least serve in the Falklands.

Nobody's disrespecting the dead, the entire point of this was to show that Canada is actually as hard as nails in battle but keep damn quiet about it.

Vehicles got some attention the last two days:

...

Changed: Driving a vehicle adds 25% to your base food/water drain that you normally lose just standing around. Sprinting a vehicle adds 60% (minibike) to 40% (gyro) of the food/water drain that you would have while sprinting on foot. (Gazz)

Yes, driving vehicles in the dirty, rundown, apocalyptic world now consumes food.
@faatal, will it also increased food and water consumption rate when character are using a drill and a chainsaw? It would also be logical.

because we tape up the Duke?

Because the earth giveth us tape, but the Duke taketh it away from us.

TLDR: Windows and Apple are for hoomans, Linux is for machines.
<snip>
Anyway, that's my angle on ye ol' Linux.

Let me shortly give my angle too: User-friendly Linux like Ubuntu is nearly as user-friendly and easy as Windows if you install it on hardware that is at least 1 year on the market (it takes some time for hardware drivers getting written by the developers).  Some things might not work (same as Windows) and then you have to do cryptic stuff you read on the internet (same as Windows). The only thing Linux can't help with is that most users grow up with Windows and acquire knowledge through the years which people get used to and partly would have to be relearned if someone wants to switch. That is why MS or Apple are so happy to donate their software to schools.

For games it is predominantly a chicken-and-egg problem, less games are released on linux -> less gamers on linux -> less games are released. Mac-OS has the same problem.

It means the titanic is really lightweight, it even swims on water!!! And it could be carried by a 7D2D survivor in his backpack.

i just wished that the chainsaw could be better for combat. i mean the angle of where you hold it, i would cut more on side and maybe it could have a decapitation ability where here is a much higher chance of chopping limbs (mostly legs and arms) i mean everything in 7DTD can be a weapon!

a wrench would be like a club, same with the hammer, impact driver and Ratchet

shovel could ether be a blunt or a spear like weapon! (to me it makes more sense to bash zombies with it but why!)

Axe could be a better melee weapon and maybe with the fire fighter book. you can learn better damage and a mod that does more damage to enemies but less to blocks

Pick could have some nice armor damage!

Yeah, makes me wonder why people battling in medieval times didn't use picks and shovels... 😜

The terrain gen on the worlds you're playing on must be very generous to you. Allot of the roads outside of the towns on Navezgane and in the Random Gen worlds I've played have several sections very reminiscent of cooled Paoioi or old school cattle guards.
I am just waiting for a nice like LEGIT Cattle farm POI with pigs. prefer cows but images just a barn with a huge field. i know we have them but i think we need more country side specific POIS.

Hmm you provide convincing arguments. This is actually really interesting and I had no idea about this. I just point to that at first glance it will look weird to players if they notice it but seeing that the numbers are fairly low it should not be problem.
My gut tells me (no pun intended lol) most will probably not notice it.  The end result will probably be players eating slightly more food over time which is fine imo.
